Olympus Belgicae - 2 YEARS!!!
An unusual article for me. But i am the one that started the original Olympus Belgica and i'm also a co-founder of the follow-up MU Olympus Belgicae.
With this i make an announcement of note!!!

Olympus Belgica(e) exists 2 YEARS!!!

Yes, ... that is 2 years of military and communal history. I will show you short notes/quotes from articles wiki-page and pm notes that will explain some of it's beginnings.

It was on day 1999 that tommot bought the former unit of Val3s OBrien with the intend of experimenting with unexplored parts of eRepublik. It is on day 2000 that tommot renamed that unit into Olympus Belgica and gave it a new logo and description.

For some time certain individual eBelgian players have been looking for an alternative to the BNA or it's privateer counterpart Green Militia. Up until then there was no specific plan. On day 2280/2283 preparations where made to found a new unit

In the end and after much talk and voting, Olympus Belgica was chosen and could even retain it's name, with a small grammar adjustment, which became Olympus Belgicae.
The day of foundation of this renewed unit is day 2296.

today = 2734


OB is now 2 years old ! 😃

Congratulations Olympians !
As in our MU history there was always a sense of guidance to new players, a decision was made to create a more formal part for providing assistance to this focus group.

On day 2530 a new project for training new players was started with the purchase of a new MU: Olympus Belgicae Academy. After some months, the command found it a better idea to regroup both military units for different reasons, such as the availability of older players. New players were then added to Olympus Belgicae's second regiment to make the difference between older players (more then 10k strength) in regiment 1, and newer players (less then 10k strength) in regiment 2.

Here i give you another note of importance!
Olympus Belgicae is one of the best and most active Belgian military units (subsequently referred as MU). Inside our MU, we started a project called Olympus Belgicae Academy, where we share our knowledge and experience with new players and help them through their first steps in the hard world of erepublik.
