[MoFA] Day 2534 - About the eCuban air strike

Day 2,534, 04:43 Published in Denmark Denmark by Ushlau

As you have all noticed we were briefly visited by eCuba.

eCuba had not been invited, they did not ask for a train war or similar, so the air strike was 100% hostile. They did contact the German CP, n0s3, after the air strike had been proposed as law, stating that they did not intend to attack eGermany or stay in eDenmark for a longer period of time and that the air strike was just for the purpose of gathering prestige points in the epic tournament which to place last week. n0s3 naturally responded that they were not welcome and that any attack on eDenmark would be considered an attack on Germark. He was also so nice to inform them that if the idea of the air strike was to gather prestige points for the tournament they would be much better of fighting in the epic battles that gave 3 times the amount of prestige points as regular battles (and a battle between eCuba and eDenmark has less than 0% chance of becoming epic – and it turned out that none of them did indeed turn epic).

Whether the government of eCuba knew that n0s3 also is the eDanish MoD is unknown (but I like to think that they did not) – as n0s3 is also eGerman CP he cannot technically have the tittle eDanish MoD - hence the title is unused this month.
The government of eCuba must, unless they are totally incompetent, have known that an air strike was not the most effective way of gathering prestige points. However if it was an actual attempt to land it was rather poorly planned and executed. On top it seems that they had no clue what they were facing. They set up COs from the beginning - which was rather unusual if they truly meant the air strike as a train war… the COs was eventually depleted and I suppose the eCubans realized that throwing more money after this rather hopeless and futile endeavor was a waste of money.

Though I doubt it, I hope that someone in the eCuban government or opposition at this moment is reflecting over the idiocy of the air strike. As a starter they could sum up the amount of wasted money and the prestige points lost due to fighting in the eCuba / Germark war that only gave 1 prestige point per hit (and possible 2 for the lucky few that earned a BH) instead of the numerous epic battles that gave 3 prestige point per hit (and more if you ended up on top5).

The actual fighting was actually not that hectic. Libertas and n0s3 were monitoring the battle from the beginning and setting COs - the spirit was in general good and optimistic. Bubbi was quick to transfer funds to DKL so in case it became relevant MC could also put up additional COs. So already from the begining we felt rather well prepared. The big "if" was whether we would survive the night, but it turned out not to be a problem as surprisingly many eDanes and allies where willing to go to bed late and/or get up early. The next morning MC was setting the needed COs and the final result was unambiguous.

The Germark victory was fairly unproblematic and I like to thank all that fought on the side of Germark.

As standing united against a common enemy is always fun, it was interesting to watch the battle on the new battle page and see how a lot of eDanes, who you might rarely run into, turned up and fought the best they could for eDenmark – and quite a few true patriot and battle hero medals was collected.
Not to mention the activity and high spirited mood on IRC after the victory was a fact. I don’t remember ever to have “seen” so many eDanes on IRC at the same time – so at least something good came out of the air strike.
