[MoF] Referendum (Work tax)
mungos032
Greetings dear citizens,
The Ministry of Finance has received a couple of complaints about the work tax because its too large. Working tax is 5% in the last months. The average salary ranges from 33 to 35 CHF. This means that for every work in one of your companies you have to pay 33/20 = 1.65 CHF per company.
The requirement of some citizens was to reduce the tax at 2%, which means that you then pay 30/50 = 0.6 CHF per company. So the difference would be just 1 CHF per company.
The situation in our treasury and organizations you can follow in the financial book, where you can see that we are not standing good with finances. So we own only about 11,000 CHF in cash and the daily influx is between 100 and 150 CHF which is really a small amount of money. On the other hand, Slovenia, which holds our region takes between 150 to 200 CHF per day which is not a large sum considering that the Slovenian government need to donate 10000 CHF for renting our regions.
By reducing the tax at 2% will further reduce the flow of money in our budget, and that's something we don't need right now.
But at the request of the citizens and the president I decided to organize a referendum on this issue and ask you to share your opinion and just to vote:
Yes or No.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know the reasons behind your rental agreement with Slovenia - I imagine that if they have 3/4 of your original regions it can't be wholly benevolent. Either way, it sounds like a great deal. If they're paying you 10,000 cc each month but collect around 5,000 then they're only pay half of what you're actually owed, if that.
Why are you just giving your money away like that? Any other country being occupied lowers their tax rate so that they aren't just giving their money away. Otherwise, if renting out a region, you should have a deal in place that any tax money collected is returned to you.
I know that Switzerland has had a rough go at it - a small country in a dangerous part of the world that's suffered through some hostile dictatorships. But surely through all your struggles you've figured out a way to collect money from your citizens in a indirect manner, rather than through taxation alone.
Surely you can do better than collecting one third to one half a gold worth of cc every day. That's only 5 or 10 gold a month. You really can't find someone to donate one or two medals a month? Or several people to donate 1 or 2 gold each month?
You already have nearly 10 people vote here. If they each donate 2 gold you've doubled your monthly income. You could then reduce your tax rates allowing everyone to keep a few dollars more in their pockets each month while also reducing the amount of money you're giving Slovenia meaning they'd have to find more of their own money to pay you rent each month.
I vote No
