[ITA/ENG] I piani del capo di eRepublik / The plan of the eRepublik’s boss

Day 2,844, 02:57 Published in Italy Italy by zefiroit

English is not my language, and for this I have always published my articles in Italian. But this time I decided to translate this article because I think that is of interest to the whole comunity of eRepublik, especially this second episode. You can find the first one here.
So I hope I was clear and I ask you to be lenient with my English.

I piani del capo di eRepublik / The plan of the eRepublik’s boss

At the beginnig we see what the charismatic Alexis thinks of himself and what is his vision of company: “One of my core values is to be fair; I am friendly and easy to contact, but I'm not "folksy" and I am very demanding with myself and the people I work with. We are not here to participate only, we are also to create the best possible company. And in our case this means making the best possible games with a positive economic performance, building the best team possible to have a "great company" .”

As a team we collaborate to create a positive culture that
enables us to craft strategy games that fulfil our player’s needs.
This will always be on going.

The start of eRepublik was a lucrative big effort. Opened the new company, the most difficult thing was finding the right slaves coworkers but then things went downhill. The idea of eRepublik was inspired by Civilization, the 90s’PC game; so after six months work, the bold Alexis considered the version ready to be launched (in the year 2007) and it was published the first version of eRepublik; immediately 30,000 fakes users enrolled through word of mouth on twitter (here too the affable Alexis was a forerunner), then several presentations and some awards have definitely confirmed the success of the game.

Just launched, the game didn’t have a business model and the confused Alexis jumped on advertising because eRepublik was (as now) free and he wanted to keep it free. They were thriving many MMOG then he inspired by other games, especially german ones, and he decided to introduce a THE domestic currency you could buy, the gold (nomen omen), and now the model of eRepublik is based on this coin.
Until 2014, more than 7 million users signed in eRepublik but, the sincere Alexis admits, who actually play are much less without indicating the number and only 15-20% active users play by mobile so to create app is uneconomical (despite eRepublik Labs has all the skills, as explained below).

[i[Until a few years ago eRepublik was the leading product of the eRepublik Labs and all his energies were focused on your beloved game, so focused that when there was the phenomenon Facebook the negligent Alexis did not worry to follow it losing a golden important train for the company. Now is the time of the mobile and the courageous captain Alexis has no intention of losing this second chance, so decided to remove resources to eRepublik to concentrating on other projects. Fortunately for him, eRepublik is a game very profitable in recent years (really ???) so eRepublik Labs has reserves that will allow milk all the eRepublik users experiment quietly for a couple of years (until 2015, editor's note).
