Introduction

"At this point Huey sauntered in to post a characteristically gigantic message about something completely unrelated to the fight, and then disappeared again." I have to admit this made me chuckle... for those who read the article you can find out what I had to say for myself about our War? with Canada as well as some changes in my Cabinet and the usual MPP summary.

The War? with Canada

My last update reported we were working towards peace with Canada with no concessions, just a end of hostility offered by the Canadians as they have no interest in continuing to battle us for our regions.

The steps to peace was a British law proposal to propose no natural enemy, this passed. Which abeit a little delayed was followed by a Canadian law proposal to propose no natural enemy which on its success in the Canadian Congress would have led to a peace law proposal from the United Kingdom. However this failed and according to Canadian sources the main reason the No NE was defeated was because it doesn't actually end the war and the prefered option would have been for myself to propose peace with Canada. However as a result of 'new world' mechanics you cannot sign a peace treaty with your Natural Enemy: both countries must first unset Natural Enemy before they can sign a peace treaty. Once the Natural Enemy is set, it cannot be changed for 7 days. So it wasn't an option for me (Source: http://wiki.erepublik.com/index.php/Peace_treaty)

As a result of the Canadian law proposal to propose no natural enemy failing our own Congress looks set to pass a new law proposal which once again sets Canada as our Natural Enemy.

Diplomatic talks continues between ourselves and Canada. The cause of the Canadian law proposal to propose no natural enemy failing seems to be in relation to a lack of understanding in their Congress on how 'New World' mechanics work. I have received an apology so it remains my own personal preference to end this conflict peacefully however I am just one cog out of many in this process, ultimately our Congress and the Canadian Congress will have the final say...

In the meantime Congress have passed a law proposal to provide the MoD more funds encase they are required.



Ministerial Changes

Neil Lewis has resigned as Minister of Home Affairs after some less than mistrial behavior which he did offer an apology for. Current Deputy Minister of Home Affairs BaronChris has been appointed as his successor. He will be assisted by new Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Robin Redcap and Current Vice President and MoLA (although the post of MoLA under review by Congress) iAdrastos. I'd like you to join me in wishing them all well in their future roles.

We have renewed our MPP with our great powerful ally and friend the USA.

Estonia

I have held discussions with my cabinet, diplomatic talks with my presidential counterpart and consulted with members of Congress about the MPP renewal with our friends and useful ally Estonia. I will put this forward for Congressional Consideration soon.
