Hellooooo Feds!

If you've been to the forum recently, you know how busy we've been!! I have set out some objectives for this term and we are already knocking it out of the park. Our staff this month is ginormous and everyone has something they're working on. Education is developing nicely as one of our newest players introduces some new ideas to help get others up to speed. The political dept is working on some programs and exercises to help our members with political aspirations take a serious look at what's involved and start thinking critically about how they would lead. Recruiting and retention are working closely together and building up a staff so we can reach as many people as possible. Everything is trucking along nicely and we're not even a full week into the term yet!

I'll save the formal update for the Media Department (who are also totally crushing it), but there are a couple things I wanted to touch on, personally...intimately...sensually?



There are some important conversations happening right now on the forum that I encourage you to be a part of. First of all- politics. Last month gnilraps set out an objective to lock in official party stances on political issues. He never actually did that, but I think knowing where our members stand is a good idea. Right now we are discussing alliances. Hop over to the forum to speak your mind.

As our trial membership with CoT comes to an end, it's time for our nation to make some important decisions. Our congressmen represent the will of this party, so it's important that our representatives know what it is you want us to do, and that you have had the opportunity to get informed and weigh the options!

We have so many more political questions we want to discuss this term, so get in now to talk about alliances before the next issue goes up in a couple days!



The next major conversation happening in the forum is related to party MUs. The Feds are really the only big party that has done this successfully. The high level of activity in the party combined with the in-game functions of an MU have been excellent for retaining new eRep players by getting them plugged into a community that can address every aspect of the game and serve them holistically. We've had a poal open for a couple days to see if you guys think we should start up another MU and see how you felt about the party serving people in this way. I'm thankful that so many of you were able to look at this question objectively, but also share your more personal feelings about the recent split. Our community is all about communication and we have to work through these things together.

You guys are leaning toward having another MU. I personally agree with that. It's a big part of how the Feds function. It's a piece of the machine that has helped the Feds grow from a little 6th party into the top party in the nation. It also turned many of us from 2-clickers into influential players by giving us an easy way to explore the different aspects of the game in a low-pressure, supportive environment with an active community. We want that for other new players.

However, there is still a lot to consider and work on before we actually build a new program. There's no rush, so don't expect there to be a new Fed MU in the next few days or anything. Throughout this term, we will continue to discuss the different options and what we would like to see so we can best serve the general public, as well as the party. I know there are a lot of... weird? feelings because of the recent split and we want to make sure those feelings don't lead to hasty decisions that we'll regret later. When the Feds build something, it should be built to last.
