[eUK] Keith is a scrub

The Pirates have a long history of being bullied by the 'community'.

The attacks upon the party (at the time it was UKPP) when I joined the game was the sole reason I picked this bunch, I like an underdog. For weeks I sat and watched, taking in the scene, seeing which lines joined to whom, all the while the other parties, being lead by TUP, repeatedly attacked one party, calling them Nazi's and racists, attempting to organise PTO's of the party, blah, blah, blah. You've all seen it a thousand times by now, you understand.

I saw certain members of that group being singled out for most of the abuse, while anybody connected to them or the party were in effect, exiled from the wider community. What was their (and what would go on to be our) crimes against the community? Having a purposefully provocative name in SirNick and being willing to spend money, Alfagrem.

From my point of view as a young fresh player, the rules were set, by high level TUP members, who were propped up by many hundreds of TUP member votes. Attacks upon parties and individuals was fair game. This was the culture I was born into, the dog eat dog environment I was raised in. Say the wrong thing, support the wrong man, vote the wrong way and you'd be set upon and shunned, be that having access to the forums (which at the time was were the meta which ruled the land was played) denied or being permabanned from the IRC channels. Totally excluded from the 'community'.

This was a tactic the 'Establishment' used repeatedly to anybody that stepped out of line and for the most part it worked. Most either didn't bother interacting with the 'community' or played it safe. ESO, UKRP and the original PCP (peoples commie party) were kept in line by fear. TUP played the tune and with very minor dissent, they went along and danced. It was an internal squabble about how to combat TUP's dirty tactics and attacks on UKPP that led to Don Dapper creating New Era. Quite possibly eUK's most 'bullied' man, certainly up there with Goku, anyhow, and we all know what he was finally pushed in to attempting...

So whats the point of this article? Well, Keithunderpants seems to reckon that the eUK's culture and values are that of democracy and inclusivity and not that of bullying and exclusion. Culture and values are learnt behaviours. We pick them up from the norms of the majority that we are surrounded in. As I've shown above and the countless examples that people can find, the culture we have is indeed one of bullying and exclusion.

It's been a repeated fixture of eUK's history books, at the center of every scandal, lies a TUP member. By being the dominant political force in the eUK, simply by sheer number size, it is them that dictate the main overriding culture and values, not the minority. You can't cry out in pain Keith, while at the same time punching someone!

You helped perpetuate the climate we have/had, you are complicit in it, as am I, as is everyone. The difference between me and you though, Keith.

My Mother always taught me to suck it up and to give at least as good as I got.

Peace out

Wayne

Always makes me smile...
