[eBe] Congress Report, May, Week 1

We all know that in every country of this world we have 2 types of players : the ones who are only 2 clickers (very active on working , training, fighting) and the ones who are involved in everyday activity of this eLife (besides the WTF - working, training and fighting - they take part in the Government team, they are also active on forum and IRC, they have a newspaper and so on).

In this article our concern goes to those active people who play the game every day not knowing what the Congress is doing for them, those people who, for whatever reasons, prefer not to take part in the outside community of this game (forum, IRC). They deserve to know what decisions we make; they deserve to be informed, and because they vote for us, we must think of them, too. So that is why from now on, we will try to keep these citizens, and all citizens, informed by writing a weekly article about the activity of the Congress (no matter if that is on forum, IRC or here, in game).

This article will be concentrated on the activity of Congress since the last election until today. The last Congress election took place on 25.04.2013 so let`s see what was the activity of Congress from that day until today.

Debates

1. [Budget] Administration , a short analysis of the war against France , opened by the exCP Alexandros. I will quote him, as I can`t say it better :

``Yes, we finished the war. Yuheee! Our suppliers noted the outlays, the route of supplies, how many tanks/CC did they send to XY, etc. Special thanks to Beaver Juice, Tango & Cash, Yannis, Viridi, MCKitkat, BelgiumGeneral, Miszi and Programme Tvvince! Without their work we couldn't ,”win'' the war. There were supporters, who loaned tanks/CC, made donations. Let their names stay here until the end of the universe:

2. Rogue NE, opened by MaryamQ concerning this law proposal by massacreur Q that was not properly debated in Congress . All law proposals that are not properly debated in Congress will be voted with NO or : no debate = no vote.

3. A new way to supply young players , opened by Beaver Juice. This new way to supply is now active and it`s going very well. People are happy with this new and improved way to supply. Ask your Young Citizen Pack here: http://bit.ly/Ze8Qep

4. Moderators, what's/who's next , a debate concerning the election of new Moderators of the forum , opened by Tommot. Candidates : Tommot, MCKitkat, Coprolyth and MaryamQ . At the end of the voting process the score revealed that the new Moderators are Tommot, MCKitkat and MaryamQ . They'll be mod until 01/08/13 unless one of them is removed by congress.

5. Debate on lower VAT for Food & Weapons , opened by Mabellene, who thinks that :`` The VAT rate on Food and the Weapons is over rated and I think we should lower it up to 2% for Weapons and 5% for Food.`` Both VAT changes were rejected as no debate was opened before the in game voting. Also the general opinion was that changing the VAT on these products won`t make eBelgium’s market work better .

6. New Judge, opened by NicknameFromRonny as he decide to step down from this position because of multiple reasons. This is still an open debate as no decision has been taken. The candidates so far are : Helviro and Kylero.

7. Mpp Mexico, a debate concerning the renewal of the MPP with Mexico , opened by Elynea. A law proposal was opened in game by Dart Magus, the president of Mexico. The law voting process is still open but the balance is tilted to a new MPP with this country.

8. Legal reform committee , opened by NicknameFromRonny. His proposal sounds something like this and it is still under the debate of Congress :

``The following five people, X, X, X, X and X, are given the mandate to act as a legal reform committee. This committee is given one month to go through our Law Book and attempt the following goal by removing/rewriting parts: "present a small, workable, logic, internally consistent, game-consistent law book". When rewriting/removing, the intention of the committee is however NOT to go against the current spirit but to reach the above goals. After one month, their new law book is presented to Congress, which is given three days to comment. An additional week can be given to the committee, when deemed necessary by them, to adapt certain parts. It will, however, not become the eBe law book before a majority vote by congress has decided so.``

9. Replacing inactive administrator or adding new one by Tommot. Well the title says it all. There are some administrators that are quite inactive and we decided that we can add one more as we can have a maximum of 4 admins. The candidates are : Medrolke 2, Viridi, Jofroi and Shadowukcs. The voting process is still open and soon we will propose the new administrator to the present team of admins. We hope that they will accept him.

Well, these are the activities inside the Congress section of the forum. As you see , the Congress does work for you , and sometimes work very hard to bring inside the game just a small modification that many citizens will not even notice but with a big impact on the future of this country.
