[Damhnaic for CP] Final Considerations

Day 1,992, 06:17 Published in Ireland Ireland by Damhnaic

To my very dearest friends, to my comrades of Ireland,

This is the fourth and last article of my Taoiseach Candidacy Campaign.

1. Presentation, Cabinet, and various considerations
2. New Citizens & Community
3. War & Foreign Affairs
4. Final Considerations

Tomorrow is the Election Day, thus is the fourth and last article I’ll have the pleasure to write you for this campaign. In it, I’ll explain some final considerations, my anticipation of the elections and my feeling towards the current campaign.

Return on my campaign

I started my campaign many weeks ago, when I started to approach the Independent Voices party about a possible support. After an opening from them, I started contacting numerous citizens and slowly making a cabinet team. After it was completed, in early May, I started a message thread including them all. During the month, we had many discussions about ongoing political and social situations, we talked about our respective views, and, even if we didn’t agree on everything, the process itself was very important to make us a mind about the different situations affecting eIreland.

During this month talking to my team, I realised each and every one of them have their respective minds, and it makes their worth. Thus they are all important to my eyes, they bring interesting ideas and opinions, and their voices shall be heard not only in their respective domains but as a collective decision making structure.

Finally, a few days ago, I started the campaign itself. I wrote numerous articles, explaining my views, ideas and plans. I’ve been very honest; I didn’t rely on lies, or on imagery. I’ve had an article many weeks ago (Mediocrity of leaders), saying how people that didn’t want to play the game of demagogy were not running in elections. I tried to run my candidacy without being a demagogue, without relying on populism or other national feelings; I wanted people to elect me (if they do) on the sole basis of my worth. Thus I wrote several articles, explaining my views and idea about the country, because I really think you need the best knowledge of someone before voting for him/her, not only an article presenting the cabinet a few days before the election.

Elections

As you surely know, tomorrow is the famed Election Day.

There are numerous candidates; this will probably be a more interesting election than the last few ones. I’ll be honest saying I have absolutely no idea what will happen. I raised the point in a previous article; I feel I start with a disadvantage considering I come from a little party. Candidates coming from bigger party who have more idling two-clickers will surely get easy vote from them, they only need party support to ensure numerous votes from them. While I recognize these candidates will very surely get many votes from active citizens, it is hard to tell where the limit is between voting for someone because we believe his/her ideas are likely to please us and that we agree with, and voting for someone based on party affiliation consideration.

Whatever happens, I hope the winning candidate will really have demonstrated his/her worth and won on that basis, whoever it be. I am not displeased by a possible loss, It’ll allow me to focus on my real life writings and readings. I only hope the next eIrish CP will not be a clown but a serious CP, wishing to improve our community, something that past CPs neglected by their attitude.

Return on the campaign

I must honestly say I am very saddened by the attitude of those who took the campaign as a joke and acted all throughout it as clowns. On the other hand, I want to salute the other candidates who exposed their views to ensure voters have reasons to vote for them, to enlighten the voters on their candidacy.

I’m glad to say there were no articles “against X”, mocking and insulting other candidates. We had a very clean and friendly campaign and want to thank the other candidates and all of the citizens for it.

Whoever win, lets it be for their worth and wish them a good term restoring the country.
