{CPF} Update

While I was forced to stay up all night waiting for the power to come back on in my place, I eventually managed to set our roster (only minutes before) eRepublik's day change. What is characteristic of the party's Congressional caucus is that it is filled by active, interested members, solely focused on their Congressional duties, with their dedication to the CPF.

Before the already ongoing Presidential campaigns take most of our attention, I wanted to provide some orientation for the party as we move forward. The Caucus thread has been set up and all new Congress members have been appraised of the rules and opportunities for the coming month. Unlike the Presidency, Congress has a useful role in shaping eCanada through its unmatched legitimacy and the broad range of issues that it can cover. However, to begin with, the CPF will be looking to elect one of her own for Speaker as well as proceed with a successful repeal of the Immigration Council.



Heading into Congress, it would not do to simply go in pledging 'activity'. A political party that pledges to help lift eCanadians out of two-clickerdom and brush aside personal politics is what I want our members to rally around. With some semantic changes, the party forthwith will openly and proudly promise to:

1. Uphold the equality of all active Military Units
2. Cultivate a tradition of accountable government spending
3. Ensure eCanada is seen as a reliable ally
4. Respect, recognize and uphold the supremacy of the mechanics of the game
5. Set a standard of positive, ethical behaviour in eCanadian politics

In my next article, I will reveal who the CPF will be voting for to decide our party's nomination.
