There has been a lot of talk about this latest Presidential race, which is good. It seems to have stirred up some activity, and that's something eUSA is sorely in need of. The thing is, however, there are a lot of misconceptions floating around about what a Jude presidency would bring to the eUSA.





The opposition would have you believe that remaining with the current foreign affairs course is the only course open to the eUSA. This is the policy that is slowly killing the eUSA as once active people go dormant or die because there is no longer anything worth fighting for; there are no causes, there are no real rallying cries, there are only the cries of the disaffected and bored as eUSA slowly sinks into a deeper cesspit of inactivity. We need a cause. We need reasons to fight and participate. We need things to pull us together as a nation. What we don't need is more of the same!





Frankly, those who want more of the same just want to keep their grip on the throats of the dwindling population, to stay in power and to keep that power in the hands of a small group deemed "safe", and they will do and say anything to have people believe theirs is the only way... and yet all the time people are barely participating, or are leaving and eDying. Which of course makes it even easier for them to stay in control. Nothing like a population of zombies and dead to make keeping control easy, right?





There is another way. We don't need to be a nation of pansies too afraid of their own shadow to have a foreign policy that relies on a de facto unwritten NAP with Serbia et al for our survival while beating up on and bullying smaller nations on our borders. That way starts with a re-evaluation of our foreign policy to see how a more meaningful group can be formed to actually do something more than waiting and watching on the sidelines while our population dies from boredom. That way tries to find a path for our nation and others that brings back some of the spark, some of the zest for eLife that is so clearly missing. It does not mean throwing the country to the wolves, but it does require time and commitment to negotiate; instead of the lazy way of just staying as we are.

And that is why I support Jude for President and will be voting for him tomorrow. He is offering something we haven't seen for some time. He is offering to start us down the path away from the same old lazy ways and onto a path that will see the eUSA actually meaning something again with reasons for people to be active.
