[Appleby for CP] Bring on the Lobsters

Day 2,779, 10:05 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Sir Humphrey Appleby

Due to a recent module change for wipes, this upcoming CP election will be decided by the winning Lobster

Good afternoon gentlemen (and Gali),

I am happy to announce that all the necessary bribes and special favours have been made to secure my Reform Candidacy for the auspicious post of Bloke To Blame For Everything Wot Is Going Wrong. It is a very treasured post in our humble community, boasting great ranks of half-wits, traitors, scumbags, liars, conmen and the occasional druid. It is therefore not surprising then that Ajay and I are naturally born for the role we must now contest. Well, with the Lobsters.

This coming term I hope to fight against the effects of the wipe by opening the Ministries to anyone who’s interested in helping out. You can apply by clicking ‘ere

The various duties of the government have more or less been streamlined continuously over the past 3 years as the community dwindles in size and the games continues it’s march of dumbing down. We find ourselves in the situation where our current active community is probably half the size of a typical government from 2009/10.

But strangely enough, despite the backwards march - a very important cog was refitted to the community machine called ‘codification’: that we can trust each other to work collectively under agreed codes of conduct beyond the basic mechanics of the game. I think most can agree that the Constitutional Monarchy under Woldy has been a triumph that a lot of our allies have adopted similar versions as well.

The government can always do a lot more beyond the basics. The main focus would be on media activity - keeping people in the know about how dreadfully we’re doing but how some have it significantly worse. As a community of gamers we should engage on this particular game with mutual understanding that we want to enjoy it (Ajay multis excluded). If you can fathom some sort of fun from working with me in government this coming term then drop me an app!
