[Apollo4PP] It's Time to De-Brand

Day 2,694, 07:45 Published in USA Poland by Apollo221

Being a Party President for my single term was the pinnacle of my eRep career. I loved every day of it. I loved the hard work, the late nights, the early mornings, and the power. However, what I love more than all of that, is my party. I love working for my party to see it, not me, reach its pinnacle. That is why I am coming to you, the party members, the nation, and everyone else out there with nothing better to do than to read this article. I would like to be The Federalist April Party President.

Change is always such a big part of everything, especially in eRepublik were we the members must change the way this game is played because Plato won’t. Change can be a great thing. It brings new ideas to the table and shows the best of people. And while change is all around us, it’s not always what’s right.

The Federalist party has had a lot of Party Presidents in it’s time. All of them brought their ideas to the forefront of the party and made a change to the way future leadership would continue to do work. Past leadership has always strived to re-brand the Federalist party to be better. Better is of course, a great thing. However, over time things get so misconstrued that better, often isn’t the best. Re-branding, in a general sense, is something you strive to do because it implies creating a better way of showing yourself and, in this case, your group. We should all re-brand ourselves, our party, even our country.

No, we shouldn’t. It’s not time to re-brand…

It’s time to de-brand.

Once upon a time the Federalist Party was a 6ther party. (For those that do not know a 6ther party is a political party that is not in the top 5.) Once we gained our top 5 spot, we kept ourselves connected with 6ther parties. These smaller parties are just as important as the top 5. They contribute just as much work as the rest of us. Over time, things changed. We began to disconnect ourselves with the smaller parties and reached to higher and higher goals. Sounds fantastic right? Wrong. 6ther parties are a major part of Fed history, and that should continue. We used to invite 6ther parties into our congress list in return for votes and support. This is only one way we once strived to connect ourselves and the nation with every party. If I have my say after April 15th, this will continue. We will return to the days where we were all connected and working together for a common goal.

This months congress election did not have the turn out so many of us Feds are accustomed to. Of course there is nobody to blame but ourselves. I even blame myself for the recent turnout in the congress elections. In previous days this was unheard of. To me, it stills sounds ridiculous coming out of my own mouth. The challenge of congress was always taken head on by media. I have noticed in my (almost) year of watching over party events since my previous PP term that media for the Feds have slowly dwindled.

I have personally been faced with the work of Media director before. I understand the struggles of the job. In my experience, I narrowed it down to one major problem. Often times there are not enough contributors. I was faced with 2 days to release an article and barely a paragraph to show.

To counter this media problem, I will work with the Media Director and the Treasurer to award those who contribute Fed media in some shape or form. This can be anything from a personal article or a contribution to the official Fed Media. Whether it be food, weapons, personal digital art, forum signatures, or whatever your fancy may be for a reward, Media will show a large increase.

Some things are best left for later, and I can promise you will see me again with more ideas some new some old. There is always more to come and more hurdles to jump over. This party together can jump any hurdle no matter how high. With that said, all of these changes have not always had the best turn out. Instead of trying something new, it’s time to go back to what worked. It’s time to return to what this party once was, all of its glory included.

I am Apollo221, and join me in working together and bringing back the old days of the greatest party.
