[Ambassador] Political turmoil in eSerbia

Day 2,396, 07:53 Published in Germany Croatia by Nathan Maximillian Stark

Only a few days have passed since the last presidential elections, and the current eSerbian president Strahinjic II is already faced with serious political turmoils in his nation.

It all began a couple of days back when the Congress of eSerbia rejected the donation of 200.000 RSD to Narodna Banka Srbije – NBS (People's Bank of Serbia). As he faced no opposition from the Congress during his reign as CP, Strahinjic II was suprised by this unexpected move and declared it a sabotage of the state.

Determined to resolve the situation with the rejected donation, as well as discuss other important state issues, Strahinjic II called for a meeting between the most prominent parties of eSerbia, who make up the majority of the Congress. However, he received no official explanation for the behaviour of certain congressmen, except some personal insinuations that people in the opposing parties don't like him, or that they're sad because they lost the elections and want „revenge“.

Shortly after that, another donation law was proposed, but it was also rejected. Unable to get information about the real reasons of the „donation blockade“ and lacking the official explanation from the parties involved, Strahinjic II classified this act as „the sabotage of government work by the opposing part of the Congress“. In response to the proposed sabotage, he decided to confiscate the organizations belonging to parties he believes are involved in this affair, Akcioni Pokret (AP) and Srpska Narodna Odbrana (SNO). The condition for the return of the organizations, he claims, is the official explanation of the affected parties regarding their behaviour, after which he will analyze whether it was realistic and objective, or simply based on personal animosity towards him and the members of his government. He also ensured that the money on those organizations (20.000 RSD on one, and 400 RSD on the other) will not be used unless NBS runs out of required funding due to the lack of donations, in which case all available resources, including the aforementioned money, will be used.

And while Strahinjic II considers this move as legitimate, members of the opposition beg to differ, calling him a liar and a thief. They claim he's trying to „suffocate the democracy“ and impose his will on the opposing part of the Congress. They call his takeover of the AP's and SNO's organizations as „blackmailing“ and see it as his attempt to control the opposition and allow him to manage the state money as he desires.

To make matters worse, today a donation law was proposed by an AP member, by which (if it's accepted) 20400 RSD are to be transfered to an organization belonging to eMontengrian CP Sandra Afrika Never. Strahinjic II was outraged by this, claiming how eMontenegro had a Congress last month only due to Serbian initiative. He also called for an immediate return of the money, should the law be accepted, and claimed that, in case eMontenegro doesn't return the money, the act will be considered a theft of eSerbian goods and provoke a harsh reaction of eSerbia.
Edit: In response to eSerbian CP's statement, eMontengrian CP Sandra Afrika Never found himself offended because Strahinjic II didn't contact him first, but immediately accused him of plotting against eSerbia. He denied any involvement in this "theft" and claimed he's willing to negotiate with Strahinjic II. He also promised to return the money immediately.

The political situation in eSerbia has been critical for a long time, with the opposition and ruling parties periodically exchanging on the "seat of power" and constantly bickering along the way. Will the current CP manage to resolve the already fragile political situation, or will the opposition call for an impeachment? That remains yet to be seen.

(A small notice: This article doesn't reflect my personal views. It was intended to give a neutral, objective look of an ambassador on the current political situation in eSerbia, based on the information gathered from newspaper articles. I did not side with any of the parties involved in this conflict. If some of my statements sound like I'm supporting a particular side, I apologize because that was not my intention.)
