[208 medium wave] - Well I Wonder

Day 3,159, 00:35 Published in Norway Norway by Yanisin

Well I wonder
do you hear me when you sleep?
I hoarsely cry

-

Well I wonder
do you see me when we pass?
I half-die

-

Please keep me in mind
please keep me in mind

-

Gasping - but somehow still alive
this is the fierce last stand of all I am

Gasping - dying - but somehow still alive
this is the final stand of all I am

-

Please keep me in mind

This morning this beautiful song which isn't so much a cry for help as a fading into darkness came into my mind. I especially like the reverse order of the youtube video. The song itself is about fading into a hopeless darkness, the video tells a different story.

That no matter how dark or grey it all looks, there's always hope and we can always do our best for other people and spread our colors where we can.

Morrissey wrote the lyrics and both in this song and in many others he was heavily inspired by Elizabeth Smart. She wrote in her book By Grand Central Station I Sat Down and Wept:

So perhaps there will be no revolving back at all, and only archives, full of archetypes,
like the composite photographs of movie heroines.
But with or without us, the Day itself must return, we insist,
when the Joke at least sits basking in the sun,
decorating her idle body with nameless red, once blood.

Philosophy, like lichens, takes centuries to grow and is always ignored in the Book of Instructions.
If you can’t Take It, Get Out.

I can’t take it, so I lie on the hotel bed dissolving into chemicals whose adventure will pursue time to her extinguishment,
without the slightest influence from these few years when I held them together in human passion.

We mustn't forget that even if it looks a bit grey from time to time eNorway is our child. It is our homeland and it is up to us to govern and make decisions so that future generations will have a more colorful eCountry than we have at the moment.

eNorway deserves it.
