"The name itself is failed. "

Well, the greatest failure of them all are their claims being decendants of Alexander the Great and him speaking a language that was developed in the future.

I agree in this point.

But the name itself doesn't claim history. Similar case is Egypt - modern day Egyptians are Arabs, yet they live in Egypt.

Right, I've posted it once but I'm posting it again just to try and bring some balance to the damn Macedonia/FRYOM argument....

'Oh ok, here goes. I do not want to disrespect any side of the argument here.

But...

1) Language does not equal race. Language changes with the rulers of country not the inhabitants. For instance: the vast numbers of Africans who speak French, or fact that English is spoken in Ireland.

The point is, that simply because the current people who live in Macedonia/FYROM speak a Slavic language, it does not necessarily mean they are actually originally Slavs.

2) Genetically speaking (and this comes from proper scientific research not nationalist mumbo-jumbo) there has been very little movement of people in Europe since the last ice age. Small groups of ruling classes can move around easily. Entire groups of people cannot.

So in general the vast majority of people living in a country now are the same group who were living there 2 or 3 or 5 thousand years ago.

The small ruling classes can easily transplant their language and culture on a long settled group of people.

3) So when you are droning on and on about Kosovo or Macedonia or any other bloody thing that enters your head remember they may speak a different language but you are probably related.'

But anyway...

eJamaica, eCuba, eIceland, eNew Zealand, eVietnam, eBelarus, eKazakhstan, eMacedonia eMontenegro and eEgypt.
