The President has the right to control and access government assets, I don't see anything that excludes government funds.

I would say a Presidential Order establishing a Meta-Congress effects the forum community and distribution of government funds. I could just as simply sign a Presidential Order establishing War Bonds since their is no Congress to object, but I would rather have the parties establish a Congress to make relevant decisions so that we have a democratic check to Presidential power.

Tried that one when Rolo stole the treasury. "Government Assets" certainly does not extend to Government Funds.

eCanada has been here before. You wouldn't know that because you're new on the scene compared to some of us.

In the past War Bonds, or other initiatives have taken place under the supervision of Presidents during wipes who rubber stamped something above and beyond their authority and assumed once Congress was back they would back him up. Well they didn't, and the President who ran those programs was left with egg on his face.

All I'm saying is be careful of the promises you make because if you count your chickens before they hatch there's a chance the whole thing can backfire.

I'm bringing MDP into this because it only seems to be MDP members who have an issue with it.

By that metric I could say that the only party pushing for it is the CPF, and if they want to fund a war so badly they should use their own money instead of everybody else's.

But I won't do that, because I'm not an idiot. I don't feel the need to find the lowest common denominator between the people I feel don't share my view and then attack them over it.

If I really wanted to watch you burn I wouldn't of said anything, and then hammered the nails in your coffin when you tried to get Congress to pony up the cash you had promised on their behalf.

I get what you're trying to say, and what I'm saying is if we want to free Canada we need to be prepared to get everyone on board to fight in case that becomes the only means of freeing ourselves. So instead of issuing advice that amounts to nothing help come up with a solution.

With or without a congress the CP can request whatever they want, it's entirely up to the people whether they support the request or not.

During a time of no congress the CP is the closest this game gets to a dictator. With the exception of accessing the treasury the CP can do whatever they want. What DMV is trying to do with the meta congress idea is keep the CP position accountable.

Or you guys could have the previous congress be given extended terms for the duration of the wipe. It's what we used to do in Netherlands to actually get things done.

This is what has been tried a few times before but there wasn't really much activity going on in the wiped term extensions so to speak.

We didn't have a huge problem with it as long as it wasn't more then 1 or 2 extra months.

There was no extension. Congress had nothing to do. The only power we had was to propose money transfers from the treasury. With that power gone, congress is nothing but an advisory council that won a popularity contest. Honestly, Rylde and his Cabinet had stuff pretty well under control anyways.

Dummy Congresses have existed before several times with varying degrees of success, in fact the Mock Congress that was supposed to be happen just a month ago was under the presidency of Rylde, so I'm not sure what point you are trying to make here. We have to make the price of keeping us wiped much greater then the price of making a deal to get a deal. We apparently have not succeeded yet.

Obviously the only course of action at that point is to spend every last penny we have, and at the end of the day still end up wiped.

Last I checked, Canada was a holding of the eUS. Doesn't appear that charters apply. I don't suppose there's a charter telling us how to get our asses kicked or how to handle being hopelessly ignored by our supposed allies. Let's at least make an attempt at having a working government.
