Xavier Griffith’s April Cabinet Structure and Members

Day 864, 23:18 Published in Australia Australia by Xavier Griffith

Greetings my Fellow Australians,

Some of you may have been awaiting my Cabinet List so you could see where things would be going. Before I present my Cabinet list though, I’d like to explain what many of you will see as a strange set up in comparison to the previous Prime Ministers.

Decision Making Process

First off, I’m not a micromanager, I tell the Department Minister and Deputies what needs to be done for each of their departments and leave them to it. They get back to me, and we decide if it’s feasible or not, that will include many things, costs, manpower and all other things, I’m not into the game of working Military over Economy or visa-versa. Just because it might suit the Military doesn’t mean it will happen at the expense of the rest of the Country. That said, all departments will see ideas before they go any further and a decision is made, which will include a consultative phase along the following lines:

This process will ensure that every angle of Government is included in the discussion so the best option all around can be actioned. While it wont exclude other parts of the Government in the decision making process so that whatever comes out will benefit all of our Nation not just some in specific areas. This doesn’t mean I wont make the hard decisions if I have to, I will, and I’m happy to wear the consequences of those actions.

Cabinet Structure

As you will see by the above diagram I’ve mentioned Department Staff. I’m not having Ministers and Deputy Ministers for every single department like other Prime Ministers, its too hard to handle with too many Ministers and it makes lifehard. I’m putting my trust in the Department Heads (Ministers and Deputy Ministers) to get the jobs done that need to be done. Under those Departments I’m placing Secretariats, tasked with specific tasks related to the Department they fall under. The Secretaries of these Secretariats may, if they choose, apply for an Assistant called a Deputy Secretary to assist them, but they will liaise closely with the Minister and Deputy Minister in charge of their Department giving ideas and suggestions to them about the best way to accomplish the duties they have. Information will be sent back to the Prime Minister and the Cabinet at large through the Minister and Deputy Minister. Secretaries will have a say in the ideas that come forth however.

The only change to the above system will be the Department of Defence. The Department will have a Minister and Deputy Minister, they will generally be responsible for Policy issues with the Chief of the Defence Force being responsible for the mobilising of our Troops to all theaters and co-coordinating with the Minster and Deputy Minister so that there is a constant stream of Information and notice coming in for the Department to be able to provide information to the Prime Minister and Deputy Prime Minister so as required actions can occur. The Chief of the Defence force will also liase with the Minister and Deputy Minister of Defence in relation to any suggestions or ideas from a policy perspective that they feel might need to be made so that the Cabinet can get to work on trying to implement those changes within the Government (which includes the Senate).

The Chief of the Defence Force will have full powers, in consultation with the Minister and Deputy Minister of Defence to place into other positions in the Military structure whom they see fit.

The Cabinet Members

This structure and the people in my cabinet will give the Cabinet the opportunity to work with some autonomy while still working as part of a team for the betterment of the Nation by looking at the complete picture in relation to decisions being made. Those in my Cabinet also understand that if they aren't working then they aren't in the Cabinet, I'll be the first person to sack members of Cabinet if they aren't active and pulling their weight. We will be there to do a job and it will be done.

Regards and best wishes to you all,
