Working - pride is only three clicks away, part one!

11 Day 1,097, 08:44 Denmark
In our last article, we talked about eating. Eating is very important, but in order to do it you have to afford the food. Remember kids, there is no such thing as a free lunch - no matter what the nice old man says as he leads you to his van with tinted windows!

In order to get yourself a job, head over to the Job market. It's in the same tab as where you buy food, so it shouldn't be that hard to find if you're alive. In Denmark, we're very cost efficient. In fact, we're so damn effective we don't have anyone to help you find a job. You're all on your own! So, what job should you be applying for? Well, there are a few factors to consider. Are you looking on staying in the company for a longer period of time? Is there a special field you're interested in? Basically, working is devided into two different categories: raw materials and finished goods.

As a raw materials producer, you are an employed caretaker of our beloved natural resources, and make sure a fresh supply of goods reaches other companies every day. Denmark is however struck with certain inefficiencies, meaning that raw materials here generally are not so favorable to produce. Therefore, there aren't that many companies operating and most people instead settle for the finished goods sector.

As a finished goods employee, your job is to assemble various raw materials and turn them into products for the private market both domestically and for export purposes. Food, gifts, houses and weapons are available for the general population, while some goods - such as defensive structures and hospitals are aimed at governments across the world.

In times of economic depression, the government owns a number of state run companies to provide the newest players to get a decent job for a decent pay. At most times however, you get better terms on the private market - so be sure you've emptied all your options before you start looking for wellfare!

A very important factor in your choice of career is your paycheck, and there are a few ways of making sure you are payed properly. First of all, you can check the minimum wage. This is the lowest salary any employer is able to pay his or her employees - and is what you at least should expect from your employer at the end of every shift. Another source of information is the food market.

Remember baby Soren? If he can't afford his food every day, Soren will die in the long run. So, what should you at least get from your employer? That's right! The price of at least one unit of the lowest quality food, but don't remember to add tax on that - so it should really be about 10% above that price!

Now, you've decided what field you want to work in and know what paycheck you should expect! It's time for your first shift, which is the topic of the next article!

Keep that wellness up!

Maybe you will write sth about work's quality? New players need to know about it, or they will die quickly.
