Recently Irasian posted a great article called "Goals for April". One of the first things he talked about was all of the great Irish citizens who should have wikipedia pages but don't. I agree, and so this article is a call to create a more informative wiki by documenting the biographical information of this games most important polities, the players.

How Do I Get A Wiki Page

If you would like a wiki page for yourself or for someone else (living or otherwise) pm me with the following information. (* = if the wiki page is for you, I can get this by clicking on you and so I don't need it)

(APPRECIATED) A link to a profile picture that I can use: This isn't required, but your profile will look nicer if you do this. I can take a browser picture of your avatar (as I normally do) but the quality varies.

Birth Place: The place you

General summary of person: How people would think of an individual. May reflect personality, importance, contributions etc.

History of Residence: Places lived, reasons for moving, reasons for choosing a particular place to start.

Military History: Important battles involved in, contributions to battles, positions in military organizations, awards etc.

Political History: Parties belonged to and reasons, positions held (congress, ministerial, pp, cp etc.) etc. Important changes and decisions made by individual (creating, renaming, destroying parties, countries, organizations, people)

Business History: Important companies worked for, owned, bought, sold, etc. Special chains opperated, past orgs. Partnerships, funding, unions, etc (belonged to interacted with)

Media: Newspapers owned, description of the paper and typical content etc.

Renaming: Since people now often get renaming done, include former identities if applicable. Also if a separate account was ever associated with the person.

Other: Personal heros, antidotes, inspirations, enemies, opinions, etc.

This isn't required, just suggestions. Start with whatever you want and over time the page may build more information

I will re-write information to fit writing style grammer etc in some or many cases. NOTE: ANYONE CAN EDIT A WIKI PAGE. I TRY MY BEST TO MODERATE BUT YOU HAVE TO KNOW THIS AHEAD OF TIME. IF YOU SEE VANDALISM, LET ME OR ANOTHER WIKI USER KNOW. Also: I will try to make it readable, so if you send me something ridiculous (like a list of 300 companies you've worked for or something) I will include it, but I advise against it.


Who Can Get A Wiki
I'm willing to do this for absolutely any Irish Citizen. So long as they aren't on a PTO list... Everyone has a right to a page, and no one is not important enough or not interesting enough.




SPECIAL NOTE
Yesterday I caught one of the PTOers trying to mess around with our wiki. I didn't find anything that wasn't true posted or any kind of Brit propaganda, but the change was major and in my opinion not for the better. I'm not keen on random total updates (especially when they revert the page back to some of my own earlier work that I got rid of to improve things), but I will do my best to keep our wiki honest, fair, and in the control of Ireland.
