Why I will run for CP of eBelgium

Day 1,470, 08:37 Published in Belgium USA by MaryamQ

My fellow eBelgians,

For months now, our beloved eCountry has been engaged in internal power struggles that have caused us to lose sight of what I believe all of us want – the good of eBelgium, our homeland in the New World. It saddens me to see good proposals shot down and good citizens leaving because of the constant attacks of each “side” against the other. Because I am considered neutral, I have been asked to run for CP this coming month, to try to begin the healing process we need so badly, and I have decided to accept.

Here is what I bring to the table:
I have been a citizen of eBelgium since April 2010. For most of this time, I have been actively engaged in politics, having served 9 terms in Congress, 1 term as CP, and as a member of the governments of Thore Thoresson, ThomasRed and Sammy Tanghe. During those terms, I have been among the most active participants on our national forum. I am currently serving as a justice on the Supreme Court, a position to which I was elected by a vote of Congress.

I am fully aware of my weaknesses. For that reason, I will choose the most competent individuals available for my cabinet, regardless of party or faction, and I will be as inclusive as possible. The only stipulation I will make is that I will not tolerate personal attacks within my government, although disagreements on issues, respectfully expressed, will be encouraged and welcomed. Anyone who has the skills we will need or the willingness to learn is invited to apply and I will do my best to find a place for you.

I will make my government as democratic as possible. Regardless of my personal opinions, the will of the majority will be respected.

I will encourage and reward innovative approaches to solving our problems. This is not the work of one day or of one person. It is something we need to work on together over a period of time. I will not promise miracles, but I will do my best to facilitate your good efforts.

If you are willing to accept somebody who will not make promises that can’t be kept, who cares deeply for our community, and who will listen to you, no matter who you are, I respectfully ask you to consider voting for me.
