Where We Stand, and the Chairman of the JCS

Day 1,201, 15:15 Published in USA USA by Bradley Reala

There is a time in this game when a person realizes they have given all they can, where they have sacrificed all they have, and simply cannot put any more into that game. My former commanding officer and former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, jankems, has reached that point. It’s been a long road for all of us, and I don’t regret a moment of serving under jankems. He has been my commander since I joined the USNG, and I respect him above all others. I consider him a life long and personal friend, and it is with a heavy heart that I announce that he is stepping down. He has done a tremendous deal for this military, and for the eUSA at large, despite what some naysayers may believe. He has sacrificed long hours and many sleepless days for the eUSA, and when he says he can’t continue on, I must believe him. I am sorry to see him go, and am proud that I am one of the lucky few who can say I knew jankems, not as a General, or as a commanding officer, but as a friend.

This country now stands perilously poised over a dark chasm. The United States faces many belligerent enemies, and has few stalwart friends to rely upon. It is possible that in the coming months we will face a second invasion, our true test, to see if we have learned the lessons that our first invasion taught us. Arguably, that test has already been sparked by the Indonesians as they took Hawaii for the second time in our history. There are eerie parallels that may be drawn to our first invasion. Some very disturbing facts show that we are in a vulnerable position. There are a lot of problems that we will have to deal with, and many obstacles we will need to overcome.

I say this not to frighten or chide. I say this because I believe that we can meet these obstacles and overcome them. We have dealt with invasion. We have dealt with economic collapse. We have even dealt with PTOs before. Now we will deal with all of those together. We will deal with them, and we will overcome them. For the past few months we have allowed a complacency to take over. We haven’t met our enemies, we have merely avoided them. It’s time for that to change. We will not stand by and allow ourselves to be PTO’d or invaded. We will not roll over and say “we gave it our best, too bad it wasn’t good enough.” We will take the good and the bad, we will deal with sorrow and triumph, and we will stand our ground. When this war has ended, we will be able to say, “Today, the USA has passed her test.”

It is my honor and distinct privilege to lead the single greatest fighting force that the New World has ever seen. As of today I have been elected as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, to serve our military and our country. I will do so with honor and integrity, and I will not allow our enemies walk into the eUSA. Defeat is not an option. Together we will weather this storm and stand triumphant.

We all have our parts to do. Now its time to do them. I intend to do mine.
