I have a little explaining to do, bear with me for a minute or two.

Role Playing Is Fun

Some people here are not who they appear to be. That is part of the charm of role play. The average, ordinary person becomes a valiant warrior, a twisted devil, or in my case a buffoonish politician/MU leader that has a glimmer of intelligence. The majority of my character known as Thedillpickl is actually reflective of my real life persona. I don't have the ambition or drive to keep up an alternative pretense for long.

In order to accomplish certain goals I hoisted a bit of playacting the last few days. Upfront I wish to apologize to anyone who's RL feelings were hurt. You really shouldn't take this game that seriously though. Remember, this is supposed to be a fun distraction. If you cannot find it in your heart to forgive me then I offer my regrets and my sympathy.




What I Did

Basically I made people hate me. This goes against my nature, I wish people to like me. Sometimes my big mouth gets me into trouble but this was not one of those times. I carefully and with purpose chose to tick people off. I intentionally said things to specific people to elicit the reaction desired. I will say that for the most part my plan worked swimmingly.

I also allowed the NAP negotiations to go down the toilet. Sometimes it is easier to just build a new barn if half of the old barn was destroyed by fire. The framework is still valid and Slovenia is still interested but the whole intent needed to be reworked, and not by me I might add.

I regret to inform everyone that you have been tested, judged and sorted by me. The Swiss landscape was shifting like desert sand. (This is not Pakistan so I figured it was OK to sweep up the sand.) If I am to ever do things around here I need to know who I'm dealing with. I don't care about your pretend face you show everyone, I want to know who lives under the mask. Now I know.




Why I Did It

This place was still pretty much dead. There are more people around than when I moved here but they were all but 2-clickers. A half dozen active souls does not an eCountry make. I've long known that if you want activity knock the top off the bee hive. Shit get's real in a hurry... and it did. Members of congress that haven't made two posts a week were bouncing up and down. Even the most reserved players were finally letting go and telling me what they thought.

Now honestly folks, didn't it feel good to actually say what you thought?

I was hopeful that the congress/cabinet committee would take the NAP that I brought to them, work with it and send me back to negotiate some more. That's how negotiations usually work. When not only the terms were rejected, but simple words that could have been changed easily were violently reacted, I knew we were in trouble. After a couple of tries to explain that congress should offer their own proposal were rejected I knew desperate measures were called for, so I quickly devised a plan.




What Was Accomplished

An extremely bright spot is the fact that Trogdor has asserted himself as a true leader of Switzerland. He was pushed into the role of mediator and coordinator. He began to give orders and assume responsibility without being told to do so. (That is why I let go of the reigns. When the situation gets out of control true leaders step up to the challenge.)

I found that some of my MU mates have backbone also. 🙂

Like I said earlier, Switzerland is now active. People are talking and doing stuff. Ideas are being processed. Plans devised. Orders given. Work is getting done. Mission accomplished.




Where We Are At

The roller coaster ride is almost over. There will be a few that still resent me. That's OK, doesn't bother me one bit. The Slove's are waiting to talk with MoFA Trogdor. They wish to see his proposal to them regarding a NAP between our two countries. I've sent my request to congress regarding MPP's I would like to see happen. I'm hoping they will get back shortly so we can get these started before congress changes hand. No alliance is in the works. This is out of my control, I can't go 😛oof: and have one appear out of thin air. Finally, Shaun is still wanting to try some stuff with tax changes. I'm hoping he has the time to do this before the term is up.




FWIW

I've rocked the boat. I knew that it would make people mad. That was the whole point. Complacency has become a way of life around here. People only spoke up for two reasons. 1) We weren't having RW's. 2) We were having RW's.

I may go down as the worst CP Switzerland ever had, that is up to you and history to decide. One thing is certain, I am not the quietest nor the most uncontroversial CP you've ever had.

Also, we need to watch the RW in Alberta. Slovenia is staying away officially but there are turds in the punch bowl. There always are.
