What Kind of Party is This Anyway?

Day 822, 13:03 Published in Ireland India by Pacifico 4 Shanon

Good morning,

Well, I suppose I can’t be sure it’s morning when you are reading this… but it is still morning as I start to write it so that will have to do for now.

Anyway, I’m Rian. I’m the current Party President of Éire Aontaithe and it is probably time for me to get around to formally introducing our group to the rest of the eWorld.

The core of our group has played together for a while. About 25% of our old game group came over when the game we were playing ended. We were looking for something different and found eRepublik. Now, we are not a British PTO as I’ve heard rumors of and we are not some other kind of nonsense. We picked eIreland as our home because it seemed like a good idea at the time and now that we are here, we are committed to doing our best to help.

People looking for a party with strong policy views should probably look elsewhere. To be honest, if I was to pick a party, I’d join up with Dan Murchadh and his Clann na nGael if I were solo. If you are looking for such a group… check him out.

If, however, you are looking for something different… something other than what sometimes looks like an elementary school playground, something other than what the daily news has looked like recently… you might come take a look at us. We are pretty damn happy most of the time and make sure that we are having a good time. Our members include a professional comedian, a grunting guy from Michigan, a cute Romanian, a Greek Orthodox Priest, a 0 soon-to-be doctor, and a schoolteacher. While we do plan on succeeding and making a mark here, we plan on doing it with a good attitude and a laugh.

We are on skype and since I am not much of an IRC fan, I will be staying there, but any and all are welcome to our room. We have some forums that are just barely up and running. They are open to the public. We are trying to keep our party paper on a daily schedule so everyone can keep up to date on what is going on with us.

And, finally, for those who are looking at us to make a firm stand on something of policy… this is all I will give you… we will not operate behind close doors. Our forums will always be open and if we are lucky enough ever get a congress member, the voting records will be made public. We don’t like things run from the shadows.

Also, I expect all our members to be true to their word. Reputation is important in games of this nature and if we give our word, we will stick to it.

Ha! That’s all the policies I have at the moment.

Other than that, we expect to have a bit of fun and hope that you all will have a laugh with us now and again as we work to help improve this little island of ours.
