What Being A Federalist Means To Me

Day 495, 21:35 Published in USA USA by Bill Brasky

Being an active Federalist is one of the things I am most proud of in my eRepublik career. As everyone can, I had the choice to be in any party in the eUSA. Honestly, I chose a party based on a few things when I was new: smaller size, and alignment with my real-life views. I didn’t want to get lost in the shuffle of a million other members; I wanted the chance to make a true difference.

This tactic could have landed me in a bunch of different parties, but by a major stroke of luck I ended up with the Federalists. For a month or so I was just another member, two-clicking and not even registered on the forums. I eventually did sign up on the bulletin board and commented here and there on various issues, nothing truly productive. It was readily apparent that there were only a few truly active members in the party, logomaster304 (PP at the time), Tiacha, Alby, Gaius Julius, ther3alsyler, and Gilroy. After a little bit of activity on my part, logomaster left as PP (or perhaps didn’t get re-elected, I honestly don’t remember) and Alby took over. Shortly after, the position of Welcoming Chairman opened up, and I decided to make a difference in our party. I applied for the position, and was selected. This was the first position of any kind I held in eRepublik, and I suppose I still hold it today (in a much less active role). I became much more active on the Federalist forums, learning the ropes from the more experienced members. I learned a lot in that short period and became one of the more active members of our party. I made friends with the fellow members, constantly trying to earn their respect. That’s when I found out what set our Federalist Party apart from all other parties.

Simply put, I didn’t really have to earn their respect. They welcomed me with open arms despite my inexperience, and valued my opinion from day one. It was so much different from what I had seen on the actual eRepublik site (I hadn’t registered on the eUSA forums). In this way I felt like I was making an impact, and actually affecting how our party went about doing business. After being active for a little longer, I applied for the Department of Education, where fellow Federalist Tiacha welcomed me.

I know I’m rambling, but it’s hard to put to words what the Federalist Party has done for me. In all honesty, I would have quit eRepublik a long time ago had I not met my friends in the Federalist Party. They have guided me through some of my most difficult times, and shaped my thoughts about gameplay. These people are the ones I turn to first when I’m confused, angry, need advice, need to vent, or just want to shoot the shit, as it were. Never once have they led me wrong, and I trust them explicitly. I will go so far as to say there is no closer, more supportive, open, or fun group in eRepublik. Even when I feel I haven’t lived up to what they expected of me and I’m really down, these friends stand beside me, and actually care. Their trust and confidence in me has never wavered once. I’d be hard pressed to find anyone in eRepublik with the same qualities.

That’s why I’ll always stand beside them, supporting them and giving the Federalist Party my all. They deserve my best, because they give theirs.

As Alby has said, “Federalist 4 Life!”

That is why I will be a loyal and proud Federalist always.

This is what being a Federalist means to me, what will it mean to you?
