What is... Vol 1: a PTO

Day 1,792, 16:59 Published in Australia Chile by sjetteron

Following on from the multiple articles directed towards a PTO on eAustralia, I had no idea what a PTO was. So I did some research and I've decided to make an article describing what a PTO is, for those that don't know.

So, what is a PTO?
A PTO (Political Takeover or Party Takeover) is in essence, a group of people infiltrating a country, seizing political control of that country, and using that power for their personal benefit, or for the benefit of another eCountry.

How does a PTO happen?
A group of people (records ranging from 20-600 people) may either create a new political party or join a existing one within their target country. If they join an existing one, they wait until the next party elections and vote for their leader to lead that party. From there they either try to infiltrate more parties or they wait until the presidential election. When the presidential election comes around they do the same thing, vote with extreme numbers to make sure that they get their leader as the country president. That's how a PTO occurs.

What will they do with their PTO?
This is a harder question to answer as it varies dramatically. I'll use past experiences in PTOs to answer:

South African Experience: Indonesia took over South Africa in an attempt to stop the South African Government from making their own decisions.

Greek Experience: Goons that were not based in a country took over Greece for 'sport'. They played around and purposely ruined the Greek economy.

Ireland Experience: Romanians took over Ireland, supposedly to take all of the gold and cash from the treasury.

Mexican Experience: Spain took over Mexico and declared war on Spain so that Spain could take over more land, without creating the first offensive.

So as you can see, when a group takes over a country politically, they have FULL CONTROL over that country and can do WHATEVER THEY LIKE.

So what can we do to stop this from happening?
Actually, we can't do much. Now that we have infiltrators within some of our top political parties, they probably will take control of them. There are probably only 2 ways to stop this from happening:

1. Vote for a well known eAustralian within your party in hope of outvoting them (not likely)

2. Send a ticket to Plato asking him to look into this PTO. Hopefully he will ban the infiltrators before they can do damage.

Personal Note: I would recommend the current President to move the gold and cash out from the treasury before the PTOers can get their hands on it.

If you have any questions then feel free to send them to me. I will probably end up using them in future articles.
Don't forget to vote and subscribe to receive updates on future articles!

Good day to you eAustralia!

We can't move anything from the treasury as PG can't actually propose it, if we still had our senate then we'd be able to do that.

Oh and the in game media is viewable by the PTOers and if you're not careful who you add as a friend so may your shouts.

Good article. Pretty much hit the nail on the head. But supereviloverlord is right when he says PG can't move money yet, but there are a few other options available to avoid theft. Unfortunately Plato has the approach that PTO's aren't against any game laws and are completely fine, except if they are completed by using Multies (which is more often than not the case), but Plato is notoriously poor at finding multies so unfortunately not much gets done.
