What about - Indonesia?

Day 2,534, 11:37 Published in Norway Norway by Norwegian Consulate
In a series the Ministry of Foreign Affairs likes to present foreign nations to the Norwegian public. After having dealt with Portugal in our previous episode of the series, it is now time for the country which hosts the most volcanoes - Indonesia.
Flag of Indonesia: There are different opinions on its symbolism but red and white appear to be traditional Indonesian colors

We contacted the former Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs, devajr, to gain some information on Indonesia.
The Galunggung Eruption in 1982

Could you briefly introduce yourself to the Norwegian audience?
Hello, I'm devajr, had become MoFA of eIndonesia for several months. In RL I'm a 21 years old student, took international relations as major. Actually I was playing this game as exercise for RL.

What is the community in Indonesia like? What is discussed in the press right now? What is political life like?
Erepublik Indonesia community is a different side of erepublik Indonesia in erepublik. In game we play our role as we want, usually taking different side from others and fight against each other, but in community we left it behind and unite as one. In RL community we expand our activities from only held gathering to more serious aspects. Some businessmen created a company based on erepindo player, from capital to worker. You can find some of our activities here

Could you describe the current state of far east Asia and the Indonesian interests to the Norwegian audience?
Our main priority is to make sure that our border is safe and to keep the status quo on southeast Asia - Oceania.
Sinabung - another volcano of Indonesia

Currently we are facing the wipe of China by several nations. Is there a reason Indonesia did not enter that war?
Actually we have no border and we are still recovering from our last war against lazocrat. And also we still honor our agreement with China. Well the agreement was dead btw because of the political situation and condition couldn't support. You can see our deal here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/-mofa-asia-defensive-pact-2391920/1/20

Malaysia and the Philippines seem to be a constant battlefield with several nations intervening in that area - what is the position of Indonesia?
Malaysia and the Philippines aren't our allies, so we are supporting our allies to maximize their interests on those countries and of course not to forget to maximize our own interests. As long as ours and our allies' interest can be balanced, we don't care with those countries.

Indonesia occupies Western Australia for most of the time. Is there a chance for a peaceful agreement between Australia and Indonesia?
Once I tried to make a peace deal in 2012, but everything ended with a big failure. Both countries have a need to occupy each other to maximize bonus, secure border, and expand influence. And both sides always take radical view against each other. So i think it's very hard to do.

What do the Indonesian citizen know about Norway and Asgard? What is your reception of Norway?
I really admire Asgard. Asgard is a good sample of regional cooperation with clear limitation and great coordination. Asgard is still loyal to freedom of Scandinavians from war to wars. I still remember Asgard's difficult position in cotwo-eden and cot-two times. And never give up. I was trying to copy Asgard with the creation of Asia defensive pact, well I failed btw.
About Norway, in RL I love your welfare system and in game I love your work to organize your self with other Asgardians. Can hold yourself then prioritize alliance's interest is what I love the most from eNorway.

Anything you would like to add?
Can't wait to come to Norway and meet with Norway players, especially the girls 😃

I would like to thank you for taking the time and giving us a detailed insight into Indonesia. And oh, I guess you will like the Norwegian girls who do not play erepublik as well - just a feeling though 😉
