Wellness and Gifting

Today a new employee joined a company I manage. They had excellent skills - over 4.50 - and it was a Q2 company.

The thing is, they only had 38 wellness.

No problem! If I can get them to improve that wellness they would become a great producer. I could make money. They could make money. And everyone could go home happy.

So I sent them a little message. It went something like this:

"Greetings! You have excellent skills and the company is proud to have you. But your wellness really needs to be improved. I'll give you the next three days to work on that wellness but then I will have to reduce your pay to reflect your production."

Their reply was along the lines of they could not buy anymore wellness because they had spent their 6 gold on the eLottery.

Buy wellness? Wow!

Yes, I am aware that one can buy wellness. You can get 10 wellness points for 2 Gold. That comes to about 120 USD or 12 USD per wellness point.

Now if you are desperate for wellness and you have already received 10 wellness points for the day then I suppose buying the Wellness Package is an alternative.

But, dude!!??

What about gifts? You can buy over 40 gifts for 120 USD! Of course you can't send them to yourself but.......

Gifting Partners

If two people who have low to medium wellness (or anyone for that matter) will get together and send each other 10 gifts you can improve your wellness by 10 points per day for less than 30 USD. Using this method in less than 2 weeks you can have 100 wellness! Wow! What an idea!!!

Ok, I know for many of you gifting and gifting partners is not a new concept but believe it or not many of our newer eCitizens seem to be lost on the idea of "gifts".

Another person whom I had made a similar suggestion asked me if they and another could send the same gift back and forth thus improving their wellness with only the purchase of one gift.

No.

Once a gift is given it is gone. The recipient gets 1 wellness point and the gift goes off into gift limbo. (Or consider it placed in the knickknack cabinet to be admired from here unto eternity.)

But you can buy more! Our gifting companies would appreciate it. And so will your gifting partners!

Give the gifts that give wellness. Give gifts!

Finding a Gifting Partner

Now this is the really hard part. How do you find a gifting partner?

Here is the best method I have found step by step:

1) Go to the company page for the company for whom you work.
2) List the employees.
3) Pick one.
4) Send them a message asking if they would like to exchange gifts with you.
5) Send them 10 gifts.

Most companies have about 10 employees so there is a good chance you will hit on a receptive party by the time you get to the end of the list.
