Weekly Power Rankings #8: So Much For Ctrl

Day 1,698, 14:21 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

Welcome to another edition of the eRepublik Power Rankings! Here are the rules; the efforts of the top five countries this week will be recognized, and the five worst performances will be mocked, no exceptions! Countries are recognized for many things, including successful defending, securing strong alliances, and, of course, conquering rivals. Without further ado, let's begin!

Updated as of 12:30 New World Time, Day 1,698

WINNERS

1 (3) France

Granted, France did get lots of support from its allies, but that's what allies are for! At the end of the day, no one can deny that France has reclaimed le sud de l'Angleterre! Though UK had lots of backup from ONE, France broke through and captured all its previous holding in England, including Londres. How about them apples?

Week rating: 9.8/10

2 (NR) Australia

We beat them! Or so they said. But it's true. Starting off by reclaiming all their fallen territories in the south, and ending with a dramatic victory over Indonesia? In a relatively dull week, that's good enough for a second place! 'But you only gave them second because you fought with them! You're biased!' So?

Week rating: 9.4/10

3 (B3) Germany

Perhaps cleaning up the scraps wasn't the most noble job, but a province is a province, and Germany sure got a lot of them this week! Getting back some of its land previously held by Poland, it also secured two provinces up in northern England, bringing it back to (somewhat) respectable fashion. Still a long way to go before Germany becomes glorious once again, but this was a start.

Week rating: 8.5/10

4 (B2) Sweden

No, I don't think they conquered back those lands occupied by Russia. But I give them 4th place for the ridiculously favorable peace deal they got. I mean, all they gave up was Bohus, which they had already lost before the war, they get gold in exchange, and they get it back in two months! It's a huge break for Sweden, which could have given up much more.

Week rating: 8.1/10

5 (NR) Finland

Finishing off Estonia was stage one. Defeating Latvia provides a much more formidable stage two. But give Finland credit; they've toughed out a few close victories and made some gains for the week. As expected, Latvia's been a more worthy foe, but Finland still managed to get some progress towards a conquering of ABC. Should be interesting.

Week rating: 7.6/10

Honorable Mentions: Bulgaria, Portugal

LOSERS

Just barely good enough: Turkey, Indonesia

B5 (NR) Latvia

For every country that makes gains, there's also a country that suffers losses. Unfortunately for Latvia, they were losers this week. While not deathblows, they lost some ground against the meek but gutsy Finns, and have lost control of Estonia. If they want to save their allies, they first have to save themselves.

Week rating: 3.9/10

B4 (2) USA

But didn't America conquer their Latino neighbors? Why are they being punished? Remember, this is not just a war game. This is also a diplomacy game, and America lost major points when it turned out they planned to betray Terra. Now, with no new alliance and Terra angered, America is forced to become neutral, with no MPPs to protect them. America took a risk, paid for it, and now is much more vulnerable.

Week rating: 3.4/10

B3 (B1) Mexico

If Mexico can't beat an America at its weakest point, there's no saving it. And voila! Bye-bye Mexico! The Mexicans were thoroughly wiped, with little support from its allies, even though there are rumors it was looking for some new friends. (You didn't hear it from me ^.^) Regardless, Mexico is occupied and it doesn't look like it will break free any time this year.

Week rating: 2.5/10

B2 (NR) Serbia

I was hyping this downfall for a long time, and I for one am quite excited! Unable to break Albania, Serbia left itself open to multiple RWs, giving Lazio to Italy, Federation of BiH to Bosnia, and South Dalmatia to Croatia! Furthermore, Serbia left itself open to a Greek attack, and was unable to seal off Apulia to block an invasion. How are you going to survive this one, Serbia?

Week rating: 2.1/10

B1 (NR) United Kingdom

It's been said that had England been connected to mainland Europe, Napoleon would have conquered the Brits. Now that the Channel isn't a factor, Terra finished what the world conqueror started, utterly obliterating all British forces and capturing all provinces. And with the rivalry fueling the cause, don't expect a white peace out of this. Can you say Londres?

Week rating: 0/10
