Weekly Power Rankings #5; Stagnancy

Day 1,677, 22:35 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

Welcome to another edition of the eRepublik Power Rankings! Here are the rules; the efforts of the top five countries this week will be recognized, and the five worst performances will be mocked, no exceptions! Countries are recognized for many things, including successful defending, securing strong alliances, and, of course, conquering rivals. Without further ado, let's begin!

WINNERS

1 (1) Serbia

Cake. Could this be any easier for Serbia? With Croatia off yodeling in Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina sleeping on sentry duty, Serbia marched right in and ate everything up. With its sights set on Albania next, it doesn't seem as if there's much stopping the Serbs at this point.

Week rating: 9.2/10

2 (NR) Turkey

Them Turks are like cockroaches. You don't like them, and you keep killing them, but they somehow shake it off like nothing happened. In a week where not many battles broke out, their successful re-re-re-revolution gives it the 2 spot. In a fierce battle for their remaining lands, it once again looks like Turkey may come back. But I'll believe it when I see it.

Week rating: 8.4/10

3 (NR) Poland

Two pity giveaways to Canada aside, Poland took on Terra by storm and won, taking USA's pride and joy Aquitaine and its bonuses with him. Clearing out the rest of the Yankee colonies, Poland also put up a French shield to prevent further invasions. North Europe is in ONE's hands, thanks to Poland.

Week rating: 8.1/10

4 (B3) Croatia

Apparently Croatia's land has a lot of annoying step-mothers, because the Croats left in a hurry. Sacrificing their home, they rushed to conquer all of Austria and chunks of Swiss cheese. Although their attack brings back memories of Hungary's botched attack on France, we'll wait to judge this tactic.

Week rating: 7.9/10

5 (4) Romania

Strange choice, no? Hungary was at its front door, almost ready to crush the entire nation to pieces, yet Romania found a way to hold on, pushing back the Huns and forcing a non-aggression pact. Although they conquered little, they managed to survive despite the grim outlook. Well, done, Romanians.

Week rating: 7.7/10

Honorable Mentions: Canada, Netherlands

LOSERS

Just barely good enough: Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina

B5 (2) Greece

True, they didn't lose much ground on the home front, losing only Macedonia to the Macedonians (huh go figure). But in their colonies, it was absolute chaos, as Greece struggled to hold off Saudi Arabia of all countries, eventually ceding an enclave oil province to the CAS member. With no means to attack the Saudis, this was the last thing the Greeks needed.

Week rating: 3.7/10

B4 (NR) Bulgaria

Honestly not sure what Bulgaria was thinking, but holding onto Turkey apparently wasn't in their thought process. Perhaps finishing off their new alliance was on their minds, but holding onto their expansive empire certainly wasn't. In any case, Bulgaria is back to square 1, maybe square 1.5.

Week rating: 3.6/10

B3 (NR) USA

"I'm America, and I'm the hero!" - Reference #2

Yes, the Americans have finally made it onto this page, but sadly not in the good way. Besides letting their allies get crushed in Newfoundland (really US, what the hell), they lost their own battles in Aquitaine, and then in the rest of their French colonies. The US are now back defending for the first time in a long while, and it honestly doesn't look as if there's much they can do. Add that to a failing alliance crumbling around them, and it's no surprise they made the bottom 5.

Week rating: 3.1/10

B2 (B2) Argentina

Sadly, Argentina was the latest victim of a gameplay flaw preventing them from holding onto lands for long stretches of time, finally giving in to Paraguay and Bolivia, while also being beaten on its main front of Chile. With more and more forces attacking the Argentinians, they'll need much more than what they've given over the last few months if they want to escape this unscathed.

Week rating: 1.8/10

B1 (L1) Austria

"I love the hard way, but I suppose I could just submit to you." - Reference #3

Yes, I love it too much, and I simply couldn't resist. But seriously? Losing to Croatia? Really? Austria simply got outclassed. Unable to even win once, they simply rolled over like a wiener-schnitzel and let the Croats attack buddy Switzerland. Your piano playing won't get you out of this mess, and barring a merciful Croatian mood, Austria isn't breaking free anytime soon.

Week rating: 0.9/10
