Day 1,880, 23:56 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

Welcome to another edition of the eRepublik Power Rankings! Here are the rules; the efforts of the top five countries this week will be recognized, and the five worst performances will be mocked, no exceptions! Countries are recognized for many things, including successful defending, securing strong alliances, and, of course, conquering rivals. Without further ado, let's begin!

WINNERS

1 (NR) Chile

Chile finished the job this week, cleaning up the rest of Argentina thanks to major focus from CoT allies. With half of their rival nation under occupation already, Chile managed to stop the revolts from breaking loose, ceasing Argentina's last ditch effort in Patagonia and finally wiping their hated enemy. While they had failed to defeat their adversary beforehand even with Bulgarian support, this time, with the help of a handy switch in American allegiance, Chile was able to muster up the strength to defeat a mighty adversary. South America has essentially entirely fallen to CoTWO hands, the southern half of which is controlled by Chile.

Week rating: 9.8/10

2 (H2) Croatia

Sure, you may have lost an ally. But if India's turned to CoT, at least Croatia is taking it down to submission, right? With half of India already under its control due to the original land rental deal, Croatia won tight victories against Indian enemies, capturing several regions and nearing a full wipe of India. Elsewhere, the Croats are very near a possible return to the Balkans, as South Dalmatia is under siege by revolting native forces, trying to force the region back into its rightful hands. With both India and the Balkans looking more optimistic than before, is it time for EDEN to strike back, with Croatia leading the way?

Week rating: 9.4/10

3 (1) Bulgaria

Taking down a core EDEN nation is no easy task, especially one that has colonies so far away from enemy territory. However, Bulgaria has successfully taken down the mighty Greeks, a vast nation once spreading from the Greek peninsula to Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Now that Bulgaria has defeated Greece, it has now begun to take control of the Middle Eastern states themselves, controlling southern Saudi Arabia and nearing a wipe of Greek puppet Egypt. While Bulgaria doesn't have a link between their homeland in the Balkans and their colonies, that's a discussion for another day. Talk about it after they clean up the confetti, why don't we?

Week rating: 8.8/10

4 (B1) Turkey

Turkey was carved up by Hungary and Bulgaria (okay I'll stop), but the Turks took advantage of a disinterested occupation force and quickly RW'd all their lands back to their control. While Turkey has lost their Saudi Arabian regions, they still have the core of their nation intact. With their war with Bulgaria still ongoing, Turkey has a real chance to get some revenge for their quick wipe. Certainly, recovering all their original regions will help them in their war efforts. Still a long way to go for the Turks as part of the crumbling EDEN alliance, but they'll take what they can get.

Week rating: 8.4/10

5 (H1) Sweden

My contract obligates me to state ASGARD FTW!!! Anyway, with a certain nation supporting Asgard, both the Swedes and Finns have seen their respective fronts turn their way, against the Latvian and Estonian armies respectively. Sweden has at last liberated their home regions from enemy occupation, and despite Germark's inability to support the war, they have managed to break into Latvian lands, carving halfway into Latvia and occupying the regions with ease. With Sweden not showing any signs of slowing down and Latvia floundering to keep its remaining two regions, Swedish troops may soon occupy the nation.

Week rating: 8.1/10

Honorable Mentions: Finland, China

LOSERS

Just barely good enough: Estonia, Spain

B5 (NR) Latvia

Latvia can't enjoy its position at the moment. With Estonia falling to the north, Latvia has previously been the force that supports their Estonian brethren, pushing back Finland and freeing their brothers if necessary. However, it's a bit hard to do if they themselves will be wiped, ain't it? While the Latvians had made solid progress into Swedish territory, they were quickly sent scrambling back home, and have not stopped at the shores. It's a full-scale retreat, tail between the legs and all. Perhaps the wars have been like a ping-pong match for a long time, but getting wiped for even a second is not a suggested move.

Week rating: 3.7/10

B4 (2) Hungary

Hungary had half of Turkey to its name, Romania falling, and a front to head into Iran. Sounds good, right? Turns out, all three were busts. Turkey was quickly liberated by resistance forces, due to Hungarian disinterest among other reasons. Hungary defeated Romanian forces in the first few battles, but had the regions quickly liberated as well. And Iran managed to win an exceptionally tight battle between the two, and repel Hungary's forces and dreams of battling China. Hungary had many options and plans for the week, but couldn't pull through on any of them. Looks like the Huns need to regroup.

Week rating: 3.4/10

B3 (NR) Greece

Greece was pushed to the brink of a full wipe. With Bulgarian troops storming in the north and a Saudi wall in the east protecting the Greeks from Serbia but also sacrificing vital lands, Greece faded with a whimper, wiped by CoTWO forces. Luckily for the Greeks, they were able to quickly regain their home regions occupied by the Serbians, and the Serbs looked the other way while revolts inflamed the regions. Greece has, as a result, reclaimed roughly a third of their home regions, successfully beating back FYROM in the early battles. But Greece has a long way to go to show that their resurgence in the Balkans is legit, and not just a flash in the pan. Repair the prestige.

Week rating: 3.3/10

B2 (B2) India

The jewel in the crown, eh? (History class spillover) To be fair, Croatia is a very powerful nation. However, with India's new MPPs and desperation, they should have put up more of a fight. Now, India is but a few regions from a total wipe. With Croatia's current position geopolitically, the Croats have no reason, much less intention, to let the Indians roam free after the possible wipe. India can't worm its way out of fighting; it'll have to use its full manpower to overthrow their Croatian occupiers. And with the current outlook, that looks unlikely, if not impossible.

Week rating: 1.5/10

B1 (NR) Argentina

Bye bye bye. Don't wanna be a fool for you, just another player in this game for yeah yeah I'll stop. With Chilean troops nearing Argentina's last region, the Argies desperately fired one last RW, which showed potential to save the last speck of EDEN on the continent, but ultimately was snuffed out by Chile and friends. Yes, the great Argentinian nation has been wiped! In frustration, Argentina has left EDEN, in part, no doubt, due to their unfortunate circumstances and the lack of support. Argentina will have to fight mostly on their own to liberate their regions now. Another leaf falls from the tree...
