Day 1,873, 23:56 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

Welcome to another edition of the eRepublik Power Rankings! Here are the rules; the efforts of the top five countries this week will be recognized, and the five worst performances will be mocked, no exceptions! Countries are recognized for many things, including successful defending, securing strong alliances, and, of course, conquering rivals. Without further ado, let's begin!

WINNERS

1 (NR) Bulgaria

Bulgaria continued its fun rampage in CoTWO's quest for China. Facing both the Greeks and Turks was not a problem for the Bulgarian army, giving up a region in Egypt to secure a foothold in the Middle East, and sweeping through Anatolia, decimating Turkish armies. Although Bulgaria released Southern Cyprus from their control, their borders remained intact despite fierce resistance forces in Saudi Arabia and Greece throwing the kitchen sink against their border province of Al Madinah. Bulgaria still has Greece backed up against the wall, and now can go through Turkey to reach China. A very solid positioning week.

Week rating: 8.9/10

2 (NR) Hungary

Poland will have its time to party, but for now the Hungarians took the spotlight against the Turks, going through occupied Ukraine and blitzing the Black Sea coast, taking the region despite a strong EDEN showing. Of course, the major addition to the festivities, Romania, fought fiercely for the region themselves, attacking the Hungarian front quickly after being secured. However, Hungary held strong, fighting off the attack and launching a counter-assault on Romanian regions, blitzing the coastal region of Dobrogea. Ukraine has still been submissive, Turkey is falling back, and Romania's attack has failed. Looks good for Hungary.

Week rating: 8.8/10

3 (NR) Serbia

Serbia hasn't had much trouble with their wars, huh? Perhaps not much doing for their prestige, but they'll take the free provinces. Israel simply rolled over and died with a whimper, leaving Serbia with all its regions and a passageway into Saudi Arabia, something the Serbs have taken full advantage of. With Turkey barely clinging onto its last regions, the Serbs happily took their Saudi regions off their hands, adding them to the massive Serbian Empire now stretching from Croatia and Italy to Saudi Arabia. Greece may have ran away from the Serbs by RWing Saudi regions, but that's one minor obstacle for the Serbs to handle.

Week rating: 8.3/10

4 (NR) Brazil

Brazil has it made no matter what their allegiance, to be honest. Back in the olden days with Terra, they had mighty Argentina as their bro in the south, as TEDEN dominated South America. Now that Brazil has swapped to a pro-CoT government, they still dominate, with Peru back on the map and Paraguay and Chile eating up Argentina. EDEN's newest member, Colombia, didn't exactly get a warm greeting, as the Brazilians finished their siege of their northwestern neighbors, controlling all but two regions (one for Mexico and the other for Spain) and reaching the Pacific Ocean once more. The quest for China awaits?

Week rating: 8.0/10

5 (NR) Albania

Leave it up to Albania to provide the lone speck of hope in the Balkans for EDEN. While Greece lost more and more regions and Turkey quickly falling as well, the feisty Albanians took charge of leading the fight back in the Balkans, taking down northern enemy Montenegro in a very one-sided contest. With Serbia and FYROM looming right next to them, Albania still managed to expand their borders, despite two-thirds of their nation being occupied by Macedonian forces. Although Albania obviously can't do much because of their relative size and strength compared to Serbia, it's still a positive light for the struggling EDEN alliance.

Week rating: 7.6/10

Honorable Mentions: Sweden, Croatia

LOSERS

Just barely good enough: Israel, Montenegro

B5 (2) Indonesia

I mean, sure. Because of the whole drama regarding Croatia and India, Indonesia's departure from the subcontinent doesn't automatically spell failure for the CoT forces in the region. But it's hard to argue that Indonesia's presence will be greatly missed as India tries to fight against their old house guests and new occupier. Indonesia had Croatia backed up to a couple of regions left, and in a twisted sort of way, India swapping sides almost helps Croatia, as while they were careful not to take too many Indian regions beforehand, they have free reign to do so now. I smell conspiracy~~~ But anyway, Indonesia out of India blah blah blah bad XD Seriously, read the leaked logs! Juicy~~~ stuff.

Week rating: 3.4/10

B4 (NR) Colombia

It just doesn't end well for the underdog nations, does it? Unlike fellow EDEN rebel Albania, Colombia had the unfortunate fate of facing a mighty foe in Brazil. Try as they might, the Colombians were simply no match for their more powerful former friend and current foe, as their last region finally fell to Brazilian forces. With fellow EDEN member Argentina barely holding their own down south, Colombia will have to pray for some support from China in the west, assuming they can even reach Brazil, much less be willing to fight them. With no one to help them, Colombia really has been wiped at the worst possible moment.

Week rating: 3.1/10

B3 (NR) Romania

The savior is coming! The savior is coming! Oh...wait. Romania's long-awaited returned to the battlefield was a very welcomed one to EDEN supporters, but the results have been quite lacking. Despite their timely intrusion, Romania hasn't been able to put the troops on the field to back up their attack, losing the Black Sea Coast of Turkey in a very contested but ultimately secure battle to the Huns, who used their success to go further into Turkey, as well as counterattack the Romanians. Thanks to Romania's loss in BSCoT, they're on the defensive. Just like everyone else in EDEN. Welcome to the party, Romania!

Week rating: 2.8/10

B2 (NR) India

Step one: lose your strong, powerful ally. Step two: become tempting enough for your ally, who's already renting regions, to take the whole enchilada. Step three: MPP long-time enemies that don't care about you in an attempt to spite your long-term ally who wanted to slaughter you as is. India and Croatia's relations completely broke down, resulting in Croatia's NE of India. And India's in no position to fight back. Despite quickly rushing to gain a few CoT MPPs that frankly show the weakness of India in international diplomacy, India has been no match for Croatia in this battle of former friends.

Week rating: 1.4/10

B1 (NR) Turkey

Slather in grease, then feast on turkey. Wait, this isn't a cookbook. While ally Greece struggled to hold onto regions in the south, Turkey got totaled back home in Anatolia. Serbia made its way through Israel and proceeded to claim all of Turkey's Saudi regions, while Bulgaria and Hungary rushed in to eat the nation whole. One region is all that's left of the once great Turkish nation. And chalk up yet another casualty for EDEN. Turkey will need a miracle to have any regions by next week. In all likelihood, the gateway nation to the Middle East has fallen under CoTWO control. Yaaaay. 😑
