Day 1,720, 21:34 Published in Canada Canada by Shoi12

Welcome to another edition of the eRepublik Power Rankings! Here are the rules; the efforts of the top five countries this week will be recognized, and the five worst performances will be mocked, no exceptions! Countries are recognized for many things, including successful defending, securing strong alliances, and, of course, conquering rivals. Without further ado, let's begin!

WINNERS

1 (B2) Serbia

It burns my heart and soul to give Yugo- er...Serbia 1st place, but credit must be given. For a while, Serbia looked like the living dead, a nation without life or backbone. But the Serbians finally woke up, clearing out its invaders and restoring its union, all within a single week. Last week, Serbia had lost nearly all its extra land and all of southern Serbia to its EDEN invaders. But already, Serbia has rebuilt its entire empire, and has plans to start attacking its enemies, despite the dissolution of ONE. On top of all of that, Serbia's nemesis Croatia is on the verge of death. Everything that could have gone right for the Serbs this week did.

Week rating: 10/10

2 (NR) Macedonia (FYROM)

Alright, how about this. Anything FYROM does anything worthy of praise, I'll refer to them as Macedonia. Anyway, Macedonia tripled its lands, feasting on newly reformed Italy, chewing up the provinces owned by the Italians in synchronization with their Slovenian allies, and powering up the western coast to reach a border with Croatia's Swiss holdings, once again timing its attacks with its fellow former ONE members Poland and Slovenia, starting a liberation of both Switzerland and Austria. And with a shaky peace with the Greeks, Macedonia stands unopposed from expanding even more. Unless you consider France a worthy foe. Yeah.

Week rating: 9.6/10

3 (NR) Australia

Ok, so maybe the Aussies didn't blob unlike the top 2. But their success was very notable, especially against a stronger foe such as Indonesia. Although they didn't capture all their land back in one go, the Aussies have recaptured their western coast, and have, more importantly, recruited ally Brazil to support the effort. With Indonesia occupied against the equally powerful Brazilians, the Australians are more than happy than to pick up the scraps and take back some of their fallen provinces. Australians may find themselves revived very soon.

Week rating: 8.5/10

4 (B5) Russia

Facing two fronts, Russia easily could have crumbled under the pressure and be defeated. The end result, though, was the Russian somehow expanding, believe it or not! Holding off the Baltic threat, Russia defended itself successfully against the Ukrainians, who have long disliked but rarely raised a hand against them. With support from other nations, including other enemies such as Bulgaria, Russia quickly conquered the northern half of Ukraine, and have no intention of giving back the territory until their demands are met. Russia now has control over parts of 3 other nations, and their country is growing evermore powerful.

Week rating: 8.4/10

5 (NR) Brazil

While Spoland and America have had issues regarding their switch in loyalties, Brazil has managed to remain mostly out of the spotlight, balancing both new and old alliances very well. They further secured their cautious likeability by supporting the Australian allies, attempting to kick the Indonesians out of the nation, and so far it's been a success. Brazil has made good progress in their campaign, invading through the east with ease and storming northward towards the Indonesian household. Brazil has made its transition wisely, and looks to secure its empiric holdings.

Week rating: 7.5/10

Honorable Mentions: Switzerland, Austria

LOSERS

Just barely good enough: Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina

B5 (1) Greece

For weeks, Greece was the leader in the battle to free Bosnia and Croatia from the Serbian Empire. Although Greece was never meant to hold down the Serbian lands it had occupied, it still was a crushing blow to the effort to see the Greeks get knocked around so easily. Greece lost all of its lands in Serbia, and all but one province in Italy. Luckily for the Greeks, Macedonia has no intention of attacking them (for now), but to be the leader of a failed scheme cannot look good. Greece's sovereignty may be in danger after the battles in Croatia end.

Week rating: 3.5/10

B4 (4) Indonesia

Being blessed with big, juicy targets and a large population, Indonesia is supposed to be the power of Oceania. They strutted their power, crushing Malaysia and knocking down Australia, but their old nemesis Brazil has arrived once again, and things do not look good for the island nation. Not only has Brazil made some progress in liberating Australia, the Australians have helped themselves as well, retaking the west, while Malaysia and the Philippines have both helped themselves, revolting provinces back to their rightful control. Unlike Serbia, Indonesia doesn't seem to be able to handle the multiple fronts, and it doesn't look good for them.

Week rating: 2.8/10

B3 (B4) Ukraine

Wiped? Perhaps not, but the Ukrainians were severely humbled. Despite a somewhat legitimate casus belli against Russia, they didn't bring the A-game they needed, and were completely thrashed into submission by Russia's Machamp. (Get it? Thrash? Submission? Hehe) To make things worse, Bulgaria and Moldova took advantage of Ukraine losing their MPP stack (don't attack an ally, my friends) and knocked a few of Ukraine's teeth down its throat, just to humiliate them more. Their wild antics have made a few EDEN members looking at them with a funny glance, and Ukraine has a long way to go before they can recover from this lapse in judgement.

Week rating: 1.7/10

B2 (NR) Italy

Wave those white flags, Italy! Macedonia declared war after finishing its business in the Balkans, and the ensuing invasion was an absolute slaughterfest, with Italy standing no chance at all. Italy was only spared of a wipe because of a Greek province standing between the core of the fallen nation and Calabria, Italy's lone remaining province. Slovenia's participation in defeating the Italians certainly didn't help either, as the former ONE nations swarm Croatia, and unfortunately for the Italians, they're right on the path. Perhaps things will get better in time, but the Italians are, for the time being, stuck as an OPM.

Week rating: 1.4/10

B1 (NR) Croatia

I honestly don't know whether to be upset or to be laughing historically at this. Croatia was almost rebuilt in its homeland as late as 6 days ago, but the Croats have lost all of its foothold in the Balkans. This normally would be a bad but not disastrous week, but the Croats have hit triple 6s, and Poland and its buddies are determined to eliminate the purple nation from the map, as Poland, Macedonia, and Slovenia are all attacking in a united effort. Croatia has proven unable to revolt in Serbia without much backup from its allies, and with no more lands to call their own in the very near future, it's back to square one for the Croats, and square one isn't pretty.
