Weapons Analysis Part 2- Profitability
Elvis Trout
Welcome back for part 2 of my weapons price analysis this article will look at which weapons factories are most profitable. Basically there are two answers depending on whether you buy WRM or produce it yourself.
The reason this is different is that if you are buying WRM the only market offers are at £0.03 and if you are producing it yourself you can only get it sold fast at £0.02 so there are effectively two different prices.
So lets look at buying WRM first, our costs per worker at 0.03/wrm are
weapon cost
Q1 4.80
Q2 9.60
Q3 14.40
Q4 19.20
Q5 24.00
Q6 28.80
Q7 96.00
and after averaging the first 100 prices for weapons and then removing tax our profits per worker per day are:
profit
Q1 3.36
Q2 6.24
Q3 13.60
Q4 19.04
Q5 31.68
Q6 32.00
Q7 14.00
Which makes Q7 about as profitable as Q3, and Q5/6 come out as the best.
Edit: if you have the storage to sell WRM at 0.03 this is as far as you need to read. Below only applies to people who sell WRM at 0.02
However if you are producing WRM yourself Q7 uses the most WRM and therefore gets the biggest benefit from the reduced costs.
weapon cost
Q1 3.20
Q2 6.40
Q3 9.60
Q4 12.80
Q5 16.00
Q6 19.20
Q7 64.00
and the profitability picture changes drastically:
profit
Q1 4.96
Q2 9.44
Q3 18.40
Q4 25.44
Q5 39.68
Q6 41.60
Q7 46.88
and Q7 is back on top

Useful article, but I don't think you can say that producing WRM changes the profitability of factories, as the WRM costs saved in production are equal to the value you would have gained from selling it.
well not quite, as I explained the market price is 0.03 but for a quick sale you can only get 0.02 I mean you could sell at 0.03 that assumes everyone has the storage space to keep WRM on the market for ages. If you are producing the WRM yourself and using it yourself you are exchanging your ability to sell it (at 0.02) for your ability to use it which is the same as buying it at 2p
Good point, don't know how I missed that!
I sell WRM at 0.03 and I think you are underestimating the demand a little, it sells in less than 2 days every time no matter the quantity.
Great article though, I'm slowly building up my factories so this is something for me to think about. 🙂
thanks Ziltoid, I did try to get some data on how long it took to sell but no-one was forth coming on IRC 😛
i've had 50k on market for 3 days straight not selling at 0.03 ;_;
Weird, mine is still selling faster than I can produce at 0.03 😒
vl125 same for me, there are some sales ~1000wrm but it aint woth mentioning them, it takes decades to sell all of my stuff.

Voted hard \o/
I like maths too
2 articles in the top 3...well done Mr Elvis \o/
thanks, I did it, woohoo 🙂
not everyone has the storage and the time to wait for something to sell 😃
have you considered higher Q uses more WRM? 1 Q7 worker WRM covers more then 3 Q6 making Q6 shy of 3 times more profitable or summat like that
my analysis certainly takes into account wrm costs! And yes you're right q7 costs roughly 3 times as much to make Q6 28.80 Q7 96.00 at 0.03/wrm, Q6 19.20 Q7 64.00 at 0.02/wrm. And Q6 IS more profitable if you are buying wrm. Q7 only wins if you produce your own wrm
the WRM i produce can cover 10 Q7 or 40 Q6, being only like 5 cc difference per worker Q6 is more profitable for me 😛
well then you're better off producing Q6 until you produce more wrm
they linear scales, increase in WRM increases both by same ratio ¬¬
