We need to get along and play the game right

Imagine if we lived in a country where we treated each other with respect. Imagine if we lived a country where we didn't go around calling each other names and stabbing each other in the back. Imagine if we lived in a country where we worked for a common goal, for the greater good.
It can happen if we remember this is a game. Not your ordinary type of game either, but a social war game. A game that requires us to get along and work together.
There's been a ton of political mudslinging in the past few days, but actually do think we're closer than my goal than you may think. I was around for the old days, when we were really, really bad politically. Before anyone in charge used or cared about game mechanics or game rules.
At least we have a common goal though of preserving our nation from the threat of a Political Take Over by Ronald Gipper Reagan, which we are working together for, as painful as it may be.

As much as those of us in the parties and military units and government may annoy each other sometimes, we have to remember this message. We should treat each other well and keep the real enemy in mind.
If we let our guard down, our country may be no more. It might be under the control of Ronald Gipper Reagan and the American Freedom Alliance, full of citizens form enemy countries who would like to make us disappear or worse, make America their puppet and destroy it forever. And they're getting closer to their goal too, taking 1/3 of Congress last week and getting nearly 1,000 votes in last month's presidential race.
The admins always try to mess it up, but this can be a good game if we let it be.
I ask all of you who have been negative towards other players to please apologize to them, or at least try to be nicer moving forward. If we don't work together, there may not be a country soon.

I can not support any candidate who sees nothing wrong with supporting an a** clown you goes on IRC and bullies a woman and calls her a c**t. I have a feeling that tomorrow the 'Flufferist' will find out what America thinks of twerps with no balls who abuses both his power and woman. You jack wads put RGR down for stalking and yet you support an FN bully and abuser of women.

Imagine if we lived in a country where everyone understood the basic game mechanics.
That would solve 90% of the problems you're concerned about.

Lig.. it is a great idea. It would be wonderful if people didn't call each other names, didn't insult, and didn't ridicule one another. It would be great if people just clicked their buttons and wrote uplifting, entertaining articles. Unfortunately, elections bring out the worst in people. 3 times a month we will argue and fight and shit on one another. There's no cure. It won't get any better. Game mechanics are the problem. Rather, the lack of critical design. People are irrational and selfish. They create multiple accounts to gain an advantage. Game mechanics not only allow it, they reward it.
How can things get better? If you're not winning elections, create a few dozen multis and secure your victory! Those are your game mechanics in action.

Admirable goals old friend; however as long as the Meta Cliques seek nothing but worthless "Powah" there will never be unity within this community. The recent story of Mazzy's run in with fluffy reminded me of my early months within eRep when I occasionally ventured onto forums / rizon.
Its been two years since I've set foot in Meta; and from recent discussion it will be another two before I even reconsider it. We would all be truly better off without Meta; no forums and no rizon where leaders do nothing but harass those who try to improve our nation out of contemptible jealousy.
We cannot do anything as a community about key problems such as retention rate when "leaders" like henry drive away respectable eCitizens with selfish vitriol. The result is what we've begun to witness in congress with unamerican parties gaining pluralities in eCongress.
The nonsense did not stop in 2011; now two years later we all can look back and see that it was the beginning of this charade. Hopefully our community can overcome this quagmire of partisanship in 2013

eAdmin didn't just try to ruin V1, they succeeded (there is no more working economy module; ePlato took that with our guru****** 'work skills'). One of the more predictable outcomes when one issues 'green cards' like toilet tissue.
I must say that what you are seeking for is no longer attainable here.
I may be pessimistic, but after believing that people could change for so long, at some point you have to stop lying to yourself and realise that people don't change for a single game, they will change for a few weeks in order to gather sympathy, and will go back to their old way as soon as they have what they sought.
Too much of the good folks have left to ever hope to make a difference, and the ones that remain will more oftenly than not blind themselves in lies that make them believe everything is ok.
Pipe Dreams. Go back into slumber Ligtreb, it isnt worth the effort anymore.
