We Have to Work for the Future... Together

Greetings to all in eIreland,

As you all know, I'm running for Country President and I do so with a sense of pride in this country. I joined eRepublik in 2012 with bright eyes and a bushy tail. I have to thank Ronisu for introducing me to such a wonderful community. I joined the IFP very early on, but I have had good relations with nearly everyone since I've been here.

I'm running for CP because I know I can help make this wonderful country better for everyone. That will require us all to work together, though. All of the back and forth crap will not save us from our enemies. We have to work together to make us strong. There is absolutely no reason eIre shouldn't be a powerhouse. My goal is to help us get there.

I will have several goals going into this term:

Build up our financial resources - We are using a lot of money to get Lithuania out of our borders. We also need more MPPs with our friends that help us.

Work on and finish the Constitution so that it makes our nation proud. The Constitution shouldn't have a lot of loop holes or ambiguities. We have to finish a strong document to make us better.

Work closely with congress to ensure events happen with the will of the people. Congress is a very important aspect of eRepublik. I understand that the dictator can and does make all of the real choices (In that they actually have the power to push the buttons to get things done), but a strong, active congress keeps people informed as well as interested.

Work on getting us into an Alliance - If we hope to be the best we can be, we have to be part of an alliance. I plan on working very closely with people from all parties and all backgrounds to ensure we get where we need to be. This is a big goal of mine and I strive to make it a possiblity.

Community activities are a must if we hope to keep our players interested and excited about our country. This is a game and there need to be activities to make it fun for everyone.

A stronger military - If we hope to be competition for those who seek to do harm to us, we have to have a strong, well funded military with the ability to adapt and overcome when needed. We need to recruit and build up soldiers to fight in all divisions to ensure we can have a fighting chance.

I'm currently working on a cabinet to make these ideas a reality.

I worked hard for eIre as president before and I'd be proud to work hard for eIre again.

Hello Rikian it's a pleasure to meet you, I heard a lot of good things about you.
I would like to ask a few questions about your candidacy if you wouldn't mind.

Seeing as you are a part of the currently ruling party, what exactly would you do differently than the previous cabinet? For example Cat Boyd plans to give the power back to the people via a Dublin Commune, while Sluagh plans to remove the constrains of bureaucracy and the constrains of all the red tape. Are you planning on running on the same platform that has been in power for the last 2 months (I doubt even god will be able to save us if you are) or are you planning on doing something new?

What's your plan for building the finances back up? It's nice to have a goal, but it's much nicer to know how to get there.

From what I understand there are several strong alliances currently out in the world. Which one are you most willing to join us to? (As a note, this is a sorely avoided topic in my opinion, I am glad you mentioned it)

Also, one last thing... Do you plan on keeping the current cabinet as your own, or are you aiming for new blood?

ireland wont be allowed in any alliance with ilp leadership. long and the short of it. adriatica have basically a top 10 country requirement. pluto wont accept an ilp run ireland. i think most of you were informed of this before. and as well its unlikely that an ilp government for another month. rikhian might as well run on the honey wagon if he intends becoming cp on the ilp ballot.

most of the other choices would be asteria or asteria affiliated alliances(though not all of them is friends anymore).

perhaps tripod would accept ireland though.

As we don't know the result of the CP election it is possible he might be right on that point alone

nothing, he asked for ILP support, we considered it, gave it and NOTHING was promised in return, He set out his views on points, outlined above and as they aligned with many of ours we supported him.

We were recently asked to reapply to PLUTO but I believe the alliance decision should be for the next administration to decide.

I have a very constructive conversation with the Croatian PM regarding Adriatica and there is no ILP block on our membership rather we don't fill the criteria at this time and again I am of the opinion that the next administration needs to consider this and any alliance carefully.

an endorsement by the ILP must be seen as a death knell to any caniddate. no ilp member or supported player must lead this country again. perhaps we will get him to ask you to remove the endorsement.

The IFP is not the ILP and to my knowledge Rikian has never been in the ILP. We have a history of cooperating with a wide range of parties as well as disagreeing with the ILP at times. I am glad to see them support Rikian this time, which I believe is a testament to his dedication to eIreland and his previous leadership.

As I said, I have heard a lot of good things about him from all sides and I do not question that his intentions are good nor that his heart lies with eIreland.

However, due to a complete lack of articles from him (until this one), the support from a party that has been in power so far, and the fact that he wasn't there to answer Elites questions with the other candidates, I hope you can understand why people are apprehensive and careful about his candidacy.

I'm actually not a part of the current ruling party. I have been in the IFP since my ebirth. The IFP has done a lot of great things in its time, but I will be different than times before. I don't have any real ties to the ILP other than we have worked together in the past and opposed each other in the past.

I am running to fix the constitution, keep players interested, and make us better domestically and in foreign lands. I want to build our alliances and improve out friendships. I want to give power to the average player, while maintaining a strong constitutional dictatorship(sounds odd.) We put this into place for a reason and it needs to be finished before we can just decide to trash it.

Well, now that several regions are free, we'll be able to get finances at least a little back on track. If I have to fund things on my own to get our finances back, I will. Everything must be done as a community. That's honestly the only way we'll ever succeed.

As far as the alliance goes, I think we should ourselves out there. We have a lot to look at Adriatica is new. PLUTO has been around and offers the most protection for us. There is no reason why we can't work ourselves into one of these. Sluagh is the military commander of PLUTO! No matter who is CP, we should be working for the greater good of eIre. We'll have to decide that as a nation. We'll have to decide that together!

I'm aiming to bring in new people and working with old. I'm very happy to work with people from every party and all political philosophies. I want the best. Period.

While our ideologies may differ, I think that having you as either a friend or an enemy will prove quite interesting.
