Congressional Platform

Last month I presented my platform in MadLibs fashion and people seemed to enjoy the yukks. Anyone who has too much in mind for their first term in Congress probably ought to be avoided anyway.

This month I am just going to briefly explain why I am running for Congress again. If I feel inspired, maybe I'll throw together some yuks before the 25th. Tonight I have too much RL work to do...
I treated this past month as my “freshman” term (I’ve often said that my first actual term in congress was an abject failure, so I don’t even consider it. Plus, there is much that has changed since then so yeah, I was a rookie this past month). Freshmen Congressmen are wise to lay low, maybe look for an opportunity here or there to make a little splash, and avoid making the epic mistakes that make the headlines.

I succeeded as a Freshman.
I voted with the majority on every single law that was proposed.
I read every single post in every single thread all month.
I had a couple of ideas that I thought might have made nice Legislation, so I started a couple of discussions threads of my own.
I didn’t make any stupid mistakes.
I was a good boy.

And I learned a lot about Congress.

I want to put what I learned to work this next month. It’s not that I have a massive agenda for HUGE CHANGE that I want to ram through Congress. But I’ve learned how to be appropriately involved, how to use my seat to make things work well in Congress, and I want to do it again, only this time with some momentum.

I also have been working on a really cool piece of legislation that… is going to make some headlines.

So elect me from Virginia. George Pumpkinette would be thrilled if you do.
