The Dirge of Cerberus

Greetings fellow Canadians, German resistance fighters, and foreign users with too much time on their hands.

For those of you who have not seen the memo, I am Vincent Valentine, formerly Vincent Chaotic. I was a 3 time Nova Scotia Congressman, the founder of the SCOTIA Organization, and resident eCanadian historian. I was banned for multi-accounting weeks back, for when I had originally created my character, I created a shadow character in Italy to go alongside it: The Iscariot. It was foolish, it was selfish, and it was wrong, and of course, I regret it. I let The Iscariot die, and forgot about him, committing myself to eCanada wholly. But soon I had a new mission: the SCOTIA Organization. This agency is a non profit organization designed to buy Defense Systems and Hospitals for eCanadian provinces which the government cannot or will not invest in. The first SCOTIA project was the Q2 DS in Newfoundland. But upon starting the organization, donations were severely low, and in my haste to buy this Q2 DS, I ressurected The Iscariot, moved it to eCanada, converted its currency to CAD, and donated it to SCOTIA. It was foolhardy, I know. I was caught, I was punished, and I deserved it. Upon my banning and resurrection, I contacted each and every constituant in Nova Scotia to personally inform them as to why I was banned, and to personally appologize. I ask not for forgiveness, for I know that I do not deserve it.

Now I must rebuild my eLife, but the Admins have thankfully allowed SCOTIA to survive. SCOTIA Organization is responsible for the placement of a Q2 Defense System in Newfoundland, a Q1 Defense System in Yukon, and a Q5 Hospital in Alberta. Now we are fundraising for a Q5 Defense System in the Northwest Territories. To all new congressmen, I emplore you to donate any Gold you can spare from what you have recieved for your recent election to the SCOTIA Organization, (http://www.erepublik.com/en/organization/1395949) so that we may buy a Q5 Defense System for the Northwest Territories!

As my new citizen has finally reached the appropriate "age," I have now established my new Newspaper: the Dirge of Cerberus.

Now as to avoid confusion, allow me to explain this paper.

My old paper which featured historical articles, political updates, public announcments and SCOTIA fundraisers was the Scarlet Letters. (http://www.erepublik.com/en/newspaper/the-scarlet-letters-181264/1) But whereas the names "Scarlet Letters" and "The Scarlet Letters" were already taken, I could not simply ressurrect my old paper.


Thus I must start anew. Thus the Dirge of Cerberus is reborn. To let you all into the inside joke here, you will note that my citizen's name is "Vincent Valentine," a character from Final Fantasy VII, arguably the best game ever created, and "Cerberus" is his triple barrelled revolver, arguably the best weapon design ever. I own the replica model featured above. "Dirge" refers to "a somber song expressing mourning or grief, such as would be appropriate for performance at a funeral. The English word "dirge" is derived from the Latin Dirige, Domine, Deus meus, in conspectu tuo viam meam ("Direct my way in your sight, O Lord my God"), the first words of the first antiphon in the Matins of the Office for the Dead. The original meaning of 'dirge' in English referred to this office." Fitting, given the circumstances I suppose.


"Dirge of Cerberus" is the Third-person shooter featuring Vincent Valentine in the lead role, which examines his dark history. If you havent played it, go out, find it, and buy it.

The Dirge of Cerberus as a newspaper will now take up where Scarlet Letters left off. It will contain similar announcements, fundraisers, and historical essays as have been submitted in the past. Subscribe, or keep viewing for my upcoming Party Histories, in which I will investigate, and document the evolution of some of eCanada's top political parties.

Now because my citizen cannot run for congress, I have not sought that office in these elections. It saddens me that I will not be able to serve Nova Scotians once more this term, either as Congressman or Speaker of the House. But I have sinned. And I must accept this punishment. I seek to repay the moral debt I owe my province and my countrymen through public service and through private charity. With the election of Jacobi as Prime Minister, the government and congress have asked me to serve as a Justice of the Supreme Court of eCanada alongside Plugson, Belateddeath and Dade Pendwyn, a position which I have accepted. With Halve being largely inactive, the Supreme Court has elected me the temporary Chief Justice until the government can find a suitable replacement.

Currently the court is awaiting the continuation of the trial, "Dean22 v. Augustus Baldwin." which deals with the constitutionality of a congressional act dating back to February, and which has large ramifications for another issue before the court, "Augustus Baldwin v. Rex" and a large amount of legislation and counter-legislation which has been passed, vetoed, unvetoed, etc this past month. As such the court has asked Congress to suspend its actions directly dealing with the issues addressed by the case until the court reaches its decision. You can expect occasional updates for the eCanadian public from the court from this paper as well.
