I've been MoD for eSweden for nine month, retired for some time now. I've been active in Atlantis for I don't know how long. I've started discussions and seen discussions started about liberating Central Greece. One of the most strategic regions in eRepublik.
People have agreed, people have nodded and I have been just as lame as everyone else because when it has come down to it no one has really wanted to pay for it.
Scrabman, Eugene Harlot and their administration took it from words to action.
Sweden is under severe attacks from Hungary, they are even attacking former danish regions even though the Danish army is under Swedish command and the relationships between eDenmark and eSweden are great. Yes there are RL-toungue kissing picture proofs(!) between our eRepublik administrations how great they are..
It's easy to understand why eDenmark could give up a couple regions to eSweden. They have a very little population in eDenmark and by only being bordering to eSweden they don't need to sign expensive MPP's.
But the Hungarian war machine is marching and if there are a region to attack - how pointless it may be - they attack it. On the last weeks menu it has been eSweden and frankly we had it coming since we have been out on a German payback tour lately.
Even with the Hungarian hordes fighting against us, our new Administration and MoD gave orders to the Swedish Paratroopers to fight and help USA liberate Central Greece instead of defending Swedish regions.
This is not an attempt to give credit to Sweden and claim that we liberated Central Greece since we didn't USA did.
What it is is to show how important this region is - that a country under attack sends its army away to fight there instead. What it is is to salute USA for doing what others could only talk about, for standing up to something, for believing in something else than short term conquers.
Someone said 153 companies are located in Central Greece. Amazing. How many are located in Syddenmark, 1?
USA has two strategic options in the battle of Raw Materials - taking regions and adding them to USA, for example by taking Russian and Chinese regions via Alaska. Or denying its enemies - Iran, Turkey, Hungary, Indonesia and so on from controlling them and in the process making friends by liberating other countries.
USA took the second option today, the hardest one and the one that no doubt is the most difficult one to 'sell' to the masses who votes in the elections.
Well done USA.
Today my respect goes to USA and I know lots of Swedes feeling the same thing.

Von Seelard: Since we have offered Denmark to give back the regions, and they have said no, I think it's fair to say there is a diffrence.
Ask the Greek people after a couple of months of being the main Peace-Atlantis TO battleground, they will tell the same.
Altough credit where it's due, the US Marines did some of the best tanking in months during the last night.
BTW, we're kinda puzzled at Yulland. If the Danes don't want it back, we must keep those regions for ourselves to avoid being rude. Northern Viking Hungary would be a fitting name?

As president of eDenmark, I have two things to say. First is, I value our eSwedish and eDanish relations to the fullest.
Second, eSweden does not control one bit of the Danish military. The Danish military is neutral and if you had controlled this, then we would be fighting the eHungarians, in which we cannot and will not unless provoked.
I apologize for being so short, and yes while we do owe eSweden alot, we are not OWNED. You have given us our country back. Thank you, but again please respect our sovereignty.

As my president Dale Marks, and t4ng0d0wn, leader of the privately funded non-government affiliated danish combat group VFF has already stated: the danish military is not under the swedish anymore and hasn't been for months. Both Sweden and Germany came forward expressing their wish for us to participate in this war on their side, and both were told that our neutrality is going both ways.
Regarding hungary taking the reagions of Jylland/Jutland now we have already established embassies in each others countries and come to an agreement that Hungary will hold the regions for Denmark just like Sweden did. Bordering two warring nations is of course not as peaceful a situation as we could have wished for, but all in all things go on as they used to in Denmark
On another note I see the good idea in taking Greece from Turkey for production and economic reasons, however did you consider that Iron regions are the regions with the largest effect on national currency of all the raw materials? The GRD has increased by a hell of a lot since the liberation down there started. I hope for you that you decided it was worth it economically cause right now that Iron is very expensive rather than the cheapest in the world due to fluctuations in the exchange rate.
To back up my claim check out <a href="http://ereptools.pl/graph/currency" target="_blank">http://ereptools.pl/graph/currency</a> - pick the GRD and 14 days. The GRD has increased from 0.005 to 0.013 from the 14th of june to now. That is an increase of 260%! It may stabilize a bit at a lower level but right now you are looking at some of the most expensive iron in the world. On ereptools.pl's list of the 150 cheapest iron offers in the world not a single one is in Greece. OF course there's the possible exports that are harder to track down, but to me it looks like shooting one self in the foot.
If only Sweden could have had an allied buffer state between the PEACE nations and its Danish territories...

But to bad you didnt do this for Germany when they asked to defend them. We did it and we are horde's. You liberated Greece and you are hero's.
You ( and sweden ) fight against the liberation of eSerbia, and we fight for liberating it.
Sweden conqured every German region no matter how important it was. So why shouldn't we liberate it all? We didn't atacked and wont attack original regions ( not like sweden ) so I dont se why are we the horde's?
