Uncle Sham is Upon You

Today, the US has declared War in Mexico. Why don't you all sit down and let the old man tell you a small story. It's one that might sound quite familiar, actually.

A very long time ago, there was a blossoming Nation. It was growing at an exponential rate, had a large cache of money building steadily each day, and it's economy was booming. We're not talking about nickel and diming people, we're talking money over fist. This country was, in it's own right, the only "superpower" in it's side of the World, where all the other countries were considered it's "children".

This nation had a neighbor. Much like the little boy next door, it was about 5 years, in an Erepublik equivalent, younger than the Country. It's population was much smaller, and only had a small handful of people who were really "active", or gave two shits about their country.

So, this blossoming Nation, tired and stagnant in population decided it was best to invade it's neighbor, for the lulz. They would gain some territory (and this was before RM's, which made the conquest just about meaningless), companies, and combine almost an entire continent. It thought it had things in the bag, completely wrapped up, and there was no way this little neighborhood boy who lived next door could do anything about it.

So, the country invaded. The first day, the conquest was quite stunning. 9 out of the 13 original regions were taken over, businesses transferred to the larger nations soil, and mostly inactives remained in the smaller country.

But then something happened.

People realised that this pretty much made the entire US look like the RL US, a country made up of snobby, imperialistic pricks who didnt care about anyone else.

Oops, I blew the surprise to my story.

Anyway, Canada whooped the US's ass under similar circumstances. This should sound nice and familiar to anyone who was around then, and should make you remember what kind of crap the US took for months (I should know, I personally had to help build the US's reputation up myself from the impact, along with Nave), and Uncle Sam, your own President, was known on the forums as the one guy who wouldnt shut up about the hospital bug.

Now, moving on to recent events:

So, the US, which is likely reasoned by Uncle Sam as "Pulling an Indonesia", is basically turning in to what you despise.

Sam, didnt you write an article about two weeks ago stating "Why Peace was Gay", reasoning their attack on India's sovereignty was horrible.

Yet you think attacking Mexico's is any better? You want to justify the Polish takeover of Mexico as well? Didnt you publicly state that "Any country who wants to invade another should have the balls to do so militarily, not politically?" (or something along those lines).

This is only making you, the US citizen look bad. This is only making Atlantis, the preferred Treaty of choice (which, I don't think the US gave 48 hours notice to, breaking the contract and by extension now owes each Atlantis member 100 G) look horrible. Mexico did nothing to you. There is no reason for this war. They've never been anything but peaceful. In fact, once upon a time, they were in the same Treaty as the US.

If you're going to be an imperialistic prick, just say so. This is not a War Game. This is an invasion that wasnt agreed to by the rightful government. Just admit it, so your citizens can see how full of it you really are.

Boy, am I glad I left. At least the country has some decent people in it. Hopefully, next election it will have a decent one running it.
