Un nouveau départ pour le Canada et la France / A New Beginning
Bonsoir,
La deuxième bataille de l'Ontario a signalé la fin de l'occupation française du Canada, et par le fait même, l'état de guerre qui existait entre nos deux pays au cours des 8 derniers mois résultant au statu quo ante bellum. Après tous les combats et tout l'or dépensé, les choses entre nos deux pays sont exactement comme elles étaient avant la guerre. Nous avons donc maintenant un choix de chaque côté de l'Atlantique. Nous pouvons continuer, comme nous l'avons fait pour tant de temps auparavant. Nous pouvons continuer de nous méfier l’un et l'autre, continuer à tenter de tromper l'autre, continuer de maintenir les rancunes du passé et des affronts et continuer à nous regarder les uns les autres, avec circonspection, à travers l'Atlantique. La seule chose sur les cycles de haine, c'est qu'ils sont faciles à entretenir et il nous en faudra peu pour continuer à faire ainsi jusqu'à ce que nous atteignions eRepublik v2.
Ou bien on peut l'arrêter. Nous pouvons profiter de cette occasion en or de se rapprocher de l'autre, comme des égaux, et mettre fin à cette haine une fois pour toute. La fin des mauvais sentiments. Fin des régimes de vengeance. La fin des parcelles. Mettre fin à la dilapidation des mois après mois. Il est maintenant temps de cesser de nous motiver des actions du passé et de commencer à regarder vers l'avenir! Maintenant, il nous faut guérir les blessures de nos pays. Maintenant nous devons commencer à réparer ce que nous avions dans les premiers jours de ce jeu, soit une amitié fondée sur la culture, le respect, et l’engagement commun à la liberté.
Pour ceux d'entre vous qui ressentent le besoin de se souvenir de French Toast, souvenez-vous aussi de la destruction du Canada et oublier le reste.

Il est temps pour le Canada et pour la France de partager un avenir où nous pouvons un jour être les amis que nous étions auparavant. The thing about cycles of hatred is that they’re easy to maintain, it won’t take much for us to continue doing this until we reach erepublik v2.
Or we can stop it. We can take this golden opportunity to approach each other as equals and say “enough!” Enough to bad feelings, enough to schemes of revenge, enough to plots, enough to 8 squandered months. Now is the time to stop looking at the past for our motivations and to start looking at the future! Now we let the wounds our countries have carried heal. Now we begin to repair what we had in the ancient days of this game, a friendship based off of culture, respect, and a shared commitment to liberty.
To those of you who feel the need to remember French Toast, take your memories of holding and destroying all of Canada and forget the rest.
To those of you who feel the need to remember the loss of our beloved Canada, take your memories of French toast and forget the rest.
It is time for Canada and for France to embrace a future where we can someday be friends as we were before. I have taken this opportunity to start the ball rolling, to begin the pursuit of peace with a treaty. No tribute on either side, no balances owing, no debts. Just peace.
And if that is approved by Canada, and by France, then I will look forward to signing a pact of non aggression, that will prevent future hostilities between our countries from occurring again.
I ask you, citizens of France, to look forward with me, to the end of the old regime, and the beginning of the new.

Wonderful! Both sides have done injustices to the other. Call it even and move on. Let's hope France and Canada can sort out their differences. It'd be a good next step to ending this World War.

The Hungarians puppet thing feels old. An alliance is an alliance. There is no shame in receiving help from allies, just as you received help from the USA in the war which is way bigger than you just like Hungary is for France.
I feel we paid what we owed to the canadians after French toast. There is no reason to continue the war anymore. And Jacobi's gesture is certainly appreciated, even though it was timed... well let's say not as I would have prefered it to be, but still, a gesture is a gesture.
However I do not feel I should give my vote to peace yet. Some words, like yours Basset, just leave a bad after taste.

Hum, je souscrirais presque à cette offre si seulement je n'avais pas l'impression qu'il s'agit essentiellement d'une manoeuvre pour pouvoir avoir les mains libres sur le théatre d'opération américain.
Donc en gros, il s'agirait de nous faire signer une paix séparée, le temps d'essayer de contrer nos alliés qui se battent encore sur le territoire américain. Moi, j'appellerais ça, une trahison de notre part !

De 2 PEACE nous a laisser tomber comme des vieilles merdes hier ca ne leur posera donc pas qu'en tant que "pays de sous merde"(c'est leur expression) on fasse la paix avec le canada.

And I must disagree with you, Canada is being more than respectful. Not only are we telling all of Congress of our intentions, all of your executive branch, we are telling ALL of France!
Why do we need to hide behind closed doors and in negotiation tables. What Canada wants can be said to every French player! We want peace, a just peace, an unconditional peace.
And if the French Congress refuses this, we will try again....and again...and again. And I will continue to tell the people of France exactly what Canada wants.
