UK Votes December 08: Meet The Candidates

Day 378, 07:21 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by wazcaster

The current presidential candidates for the main parties are as follows:

UKRP: Dishcmds
Current UK President. After moving to the UK from the US, he became involved with UK politics, eventually working his way up the ranks of UKRP to become the president. So far he has been fairly successful in his goals of reforming the NHS, and has proved his ability to lead the UK well.

Policies: Reintroducing the Transport For London scheme (which is already underway) and filling all the Ministerial roles (the question is whether there are enough active members to fulfill that pledge).

PCP: Bremer
Once finance minister and long time congressman, Bremer is disliked by some for his apparent lack of respect for others. He became Mayor of Cardiff, winning against TUPs Jasperking, before gaining a seat in congress under KIA Sneak, the first PCP president. He was also breifly the UKs ambassador to Brazil.

Policies: No policies yet declared. His manifesto is due to be released.

TUP: Squiddy
Current Minister of Foreign Affairs, Squiddy won the recent party elections to become party president. After only a few weeks, Squiddy just missed out on becoming Mayor of Bristol after only a few weeks, however he succeeded AngelFeather to become Mayor of London. He is the General Manager of Zycon Industries. He is very experienced in politics and has good links with other senior political figures.

Policies: No policies declared yet. His manifesto is due to be released.

MDU: Tommy Tommasino
Rank outsider, Tommy Tommasino has held no position in the UK government, with his most senior position being as Press Officer for MDU. He is inexperienced in terms of government and many of his policies seem slightly shaky.

Policies: Reform of the trade unions (neccesary?), budget report system (already proposed by TUP congressman Malta_1990), more financial support for the UK military (not needed, the UKs military already has enough money), more public information (this may be a waste of time, as the public are kept quite well informed already), more NHS publicity and rewards for active directors (a sound policy, it will ensure that the NHS is kept up to standard) and more support for new citizens (if they sign up to the UKs forums, they will gain lot of support already, so is this really needed?).
