You do have skills that UKRP are in desperate need of BUT you could of offered this as a party member rather then jumping straight into the party and going for the PP chair (not that any law prevents you).

However as I'm now PP of the UKPP due to your leaving (NB: PP's quitting means it still goes to highest exp. not any of the new assigned positions) it is disconcerting that my opposite number in TUP is planning to PTO my party.

Steps will be taken to stop them implementing their "Rule by divine right" philosophy in regards to our members.

If you intend to take over leadership of a party when the majority of the current members (ie those who wern't UKPP members 5 mintues earlier) that's a PTO.

And a PTO is the worst thing anyone can do in this game. Even if done with the best of intentions, it can completely change the community dynamic of a party - which is the most important thing in social groups on a social game like this.

I've been in a party that was PTO'd. The community we'd built was destroyed as pillars of the community that had built that party went their seperate ways.

That party was the UKWP. Your own party, Nick.

UKWP had a community. It was PTO'd by the government and Bob Boblo's followers. Election Turnout was well over 110%, I think. That is their doing, not mine. I will not be importing voters and therefore it isn't a PTO. People who vote for me will be voting for a more active and involved UKRP.

I don't believe TUP will be attempting a take-over of UKPP. I was there for that conversation, and I must say, sir nick, it seems clear that all the UKRP members online at the time do not want your assistance. Perhaps you should have approached them before jumping in and looking like your trying to take over?

Under the circumstances you initiated, the reaction of the majority of parties, including representatives from TUP, UKRP and NE were negative, and understandably so.

TUP appears to be reacting in the moment in terms of their initial response. I do not believe that they are intending to take over UKPP. I think you have miscalculated the public reaction to your standing for UKRP presidency. Indeed, I think that, unless you import players to vote for you, you will not win this election. From the looks of it, I think the reaction of everyone there was justifiable. what you are doing looks like a PTO of this party...

...Did you even talk to the members of UKRP on whether they want your help or not? If other parties instantly assume that they have to counter your move, surely that indicates that, perhaps, your move has a negative view across the board?

I think you should step down your candidacy unless UKRP actually asks for you to stand.

That's a description of a PTO, isn't it? You don''t suggest helping them, just moving straight over and becoming PP this month - as UKPP PP it suggests you would do so by moving voters. Don't worry Alfa, there is 0% chance of anyone PTOing UKPP, we don't have the numbers or the inclination.

This wasn't the way to go about helping Nick, Going from PP of one party to that parties clear recruitment rival (you are both centre right and fighting over the same members) and attempting to become their PP within a single day is not going to be viewed well. Maybe you have good intentions but that doesn't matter... you've shattered that through these rash and reasonably on the part of UKRP'ers worrying decision.

As for the way certain people acted on the #eUK channel it was entirely disproportionate as well as being an abuse of power which I did try my best to explain at the time.

However no one threatened to PTO UKPP, you got that from misunderstanding when someone said you PTO'ing the UKRP would be met with an ATO... or Anti Take Over. An ATO would mean supplying voters to another candidate for UKRP PP and NOT to try and take over UKPP.

Yes, they've been unrational and unfair. However, you can't just walk into a new party and expect to be offered PP. Spending time there and gaining people's trust is the way to do it

First of all i'd like to welcome you to UKRP. He's not done anything wrong since joining and i think most of the bad stuff said here is grossly unfair

But my criticism is you said to me you don't want the eUK to come down to only having 2 parties left. But if you became PP, you would just run us the same way as you ran the UKPP (which the vast majority of us don't want)

The logs have been manipulated to look bad, look at the times given next to the comments. Nick's running for control of your party immediately after leaving control of UKPP, there is no way to be more of a PTO than that.

He could try and ask people from UKPP over to vote for him. That would be a PTO

But he's not and UKPP members have been reminded that such action would be contrary to party policy.

As for the whole "UKRP to become a UKPP clone" I wouldn't see that happening if Nick stays as despite the chanting from the other side he's not an ebil dictator and alot of the good you see in UKPP such as balloting, conferences and giving choice to the party membership has been driven by him.

Objectivly he'd be a massive asset to any bottom-up party, so from my point of view the sooner he's hounded back home to UKPP the better for us.

As glad as I am that you are willing to support our struggle to return UKRP to its former glory I would very much enjoy it if you would prove your willingness to help by becoming involved on the IRC and forums. We have had primaries and Thedarkace will be our candidate of choice.

Its ironic looking at the hypocrits up in arms over this...and yet they were the same one calling for New Era to be taken over. Funny...do as I say not as I do...seems to be the catchprase of the forum/IRC elite

Couple of points:

1) UKRP never supported a take over of NE...fact
2) Even TUP said that it would only be done in the most dire of circumstances - i.e. it was actually a PTO. As it wasnt they wouldn't support it and the topic was locked.

So - judging by your comment you either:

1) Think that PTO's are fair game and support them
2) Think that they are not right and so the "forum elite" should be punished for thinking about it...
3) You're just throwing things around cause you enjoy making a mess

Well if you would be so kind as to read my ealier post you will see i detest and kind of take over.

UKRP senior figures were calling for it...and still are. Now if one mans caomments can be used to judge the whole party (and it has been done by all parties recently) then why shouldnt that? These were senior UKRP figures and a former CP we are talking about...and read the thread...it was more than a playful suggestion.
