Think differently, Think Canadian, Think Jacobi.

Day 518, 16:53 Published in Canada Canada by Jacobi

Let me begin by illustrating what is wrong with the Canadian government today.

We don’t fight enough. Our country lags behind. Our politics are insular. Our activity lags behind. The theft of $35,000 generates a lack of confidence. Our morale lags behind.

My roommate plays eRepublik, and he is currently in Romania working there, generating money there, using his activity there, and he hopes soon building a company there.

After reading that another friend of mine has decided to stay there, he too told me today that he may not come back to Canada.

Need we become a backwater?

Nova Scotia is the only door to a PEACE invasion. It is the first and only province that can be attacked. Now, lets set aside the pros and cons of abandoning every province east of Quebec to an invasion without considering token opposition, because the government is committed to Fortress Ontario and this election isn’t about opening up that can of worms.

Let’s talk about how it makes sense that $35,000 CDN was going to be spent on the CAF, a group of barely 100 individuals while the citizens of Nova Scotia, numbering 164, have no Defense System and only a Q1 Hospital.

Some people would say that we need a CAF to prevent takeovers in this and other countries. Maybe so, but they don’t need $35,000 a month to do it.

Some people would say that the CAF builds activity. But not when it is limited to 2% of Canada’s current population.

The government, the parties in power, believe that it makes sense to take from 100 people, and then to give back to only 2 of those 100.

Let me tell you, Nova Scotians, I don’t believe that for a second.

I can’t believe that that sort of extravagant spending on a glorified social club can be conscienced when Nova Scotia, and many other provinces in its position, month after month is shafted.

So if elected Congressmen, I make the pledge to you, the citizens of Nova Scotia, that I will make sure that the money that the people of Nova Scotia put in every day goes towards the defense, of Nova Scotia and the wellness of the people in it.

There are three ways to do this, and all of them would be vastly more equitable to us living on the front lines than the current policies of the Ontario centric government.

1) Lower Taxes

By reducing the CAF social club budget we can lower our taxes, which will increase investment opportunities for Nova Scotia citizens, grow our economy, and put money back into your pockets

2) Increase spending on infrastructure

Better hospitals improve YOUR wellness and allow you to gain more experience from attacking France or participating in Canadian battles without costing $20 CDN or more to move to Ontario and back every time a battle breaks out. Better defense systems will allow us to stop an attack at the border, and give Nova Scotia the due it needs.

3) Expand Canadian Health Care

Wellness helps our citizens, wellness helps our battle readiness, wellness helps our businesses. More money and more focus on the Canadian Health Care system will yield amazing dividends on an open basis.

This would include Public-Private partnerships between businesses and governments who want to increase the wellness’ of active players.

And I am not against the CAF, in fact I think it should be expanded and I think all Canadian citizens who have the activity should be given the opportunity to join. However, I do not believe the CAF is sustainable in its present form and is the key reason the development of Nova Scotia and Canada is held back.

Even if just one of these ideas were to take hold, the people of Nova Scotia would benefit. Canada is a unique and blessed country in eRepublik, its richness in resources and geographic isolation present many opportunities for us beyond simply enriching the privileged few.

On election day, when you cast your ballot, I urge you to think differently, think Canadian, and think Jacobi.

Thank you.
