The Writers' Challenge: Edition IV
...sponsored by the Democratic Action League, Ministry of Opportunity and Canadian Paradox Party.
Well, we didn't get any real submissions last week, so that contest is cancelled. However, WC is back, bigger and better. A few changes to the contest:
-It wil be held twice a month instead of every week
-The prize will be 1000 CAD instead of 10 Gold
Now, this week's contest. Cham was generous enough to donate back his winnings of 10 Gold from week 2. Therefore, this edition's total prize money is:
10 GOLD and 900CAD
That's right. The winner will recieve 10 GOLD and $900. The topics are almost the same as last week. Here they are:
TOPIC 1: Age: How does the RL age of a player affect their style? Is the "over 30" group inherently more rational than the rest?
TOPIC 2: Elaborate Community vs. Minimalistic State: What works best? A giant, organised community of forums, organisations, IRC channels etc. or is it best to stick to the in-game side of things? (a highly philosophical topic. Some questions to consider: in the former case, how is the social contract kept in place? in the latter case, how do we consolidate poor features and flawed gameplay with entirely in-game play? Also, no fence-sitting.)
TOPIC 3: Real life personality and in-game character. To what extent is the in-game character and conduct of a player a reflection of their real-life personality?
TOPIC 4: Plunging CAD. What the hell do we do? Whose fault is it?
TOPIC 5: Military history. The creative option. Write something about a military experience you've had in-game. An anecdote about a particularly succesful battle. A philosophical statement on camaraderie. A lecture on the history of Canada's fine soldiers. You decide.
These topics will be reused if no submissions on them are recieved.

No. The topics are great. I like all of them. If I didn't, I wouldn't have used them.
