The surrender of eFrance, and the English campaign.
February 8th, 2010
Yesterday, the American army alongside her valiant Eden allies succeeded in cornering what was left of the French military and subsequently annihilated it. This victory came after a grueling two month long campaign fought mostly by Spain over Southern France, whos constant efforts in battle, and numerous sacrifices in blood and treasure made this victory possible.
The location of the final battles brought a great sense irony for America, only 66 years ago the very same divisions participated in the D-Day landings shedding so much blood to save France. Now, within the same lifetime she seeks to undo that mistake, fighting through the same hedgerows as their grandfathers did.

Members of a US AT platoon await a limited, but desperate French counter attack-it never came.
At 12:00 eRepublic time, Representatives of the Eden nationals will receive the French Prime minister who will present a formal declaration of surrender and will discuss possible terms for peace. Such terms the French Prime minister will pursue are likely to re-establish France as a independent republic,in exchange for ceding much of it's industrial regions in the South and giving military access to the Eden nations. However, It is unlikely that anything other than unconditional surrender would be granted, and it remains to be seen if a settlement would halt the French insurgency in the Eden controlled provinces.
On the British front Eden has succeeded in pushing back Phoenix lines in three key locations. In the North the US-led attack against the Serbians saw heavy fighting, climaxing as the Croatian tank corps succeeded in opening up a breach in the residential district that was exploited by the US 4th army, who threatened to envelop the Phoenix forces in the whole of North Western England. This well coordinated maneuver secured a victory for Eden, not only tactically, but strategically as the Northern and Western fronts have been linked-presenting a unified front.

The victory in the vicinity of North Western England was made all the more sufficient when a few hours later the Norwegian-led amphibious assault against Northern Ireland succeeded in forcing the Serbian 7th corps to surrender, who had been quickly followed by the 14 English regiments who remained surrounded in Belfast. This resounding victory had been achieved largely by the Romanian armed forces who contributed 60% of all damage, committing nearly 38,000 men, and Irish nationalists who consistently fed accurate information on Phoenix deployments.

The victory in Northern Ireland had not only resolved a century long conflict between the English and the Irish, but secured the rear flank of Eden's invasion.
This victory however to many Canadians who had participated in a earlier attack on Northern Ireland, this is a bitter-sweet victory, many lost friends when had been killed by the Russian mech corps led by Arnold swarchenegger only days earlier. In retaliation, the Canadian high command unleashed a biological weapon codenamed A.D.M.I.N which crippled Skynet's C&C capability, immobilizing the Mechwarriors, and paving the way for the second Eden wave the following day.
The third major breakthrough in the English campaign occurred late last night at 18:30 Erepublic time, when the US 1st army who had already rolled the Hungarian flank up succeeded in piercing the Iranian reserves. Supplemented by the arrival of the US 6th army with an additional 300,000 men who had arrived en'mass just an hour beforehand, they continued until dawn arriving at the outskirts of London itself, blocking any attempt for Phoenix to reinforce the now panic English capital. These series of American thrusts where only made possible by the sacrifices and toil of her Eden allies, in particularly the Croatian 2nd army who supplied an additional 362,000 men to the fight.

Taking these three regions has drastically shaken English moral, not only by securing Eden's rear flank, but also by linking the Northern front together with the Eastern front and driving within striking distance of London itself.
