Dear citizens of the eNetherlands,
I recently returned to the eNetherlands after a short time of absence due to personal activities. One of my last messages before I left was one about the need to set aside all conflicts and petty fights for a while (which was a reply to people complaining about the activity of the Government, yet not doing anything themselves but complain and be an obstacle) - we are simply with too few right now to allow that, even though political activity (which means 'fights') can be one of the most fun things in the game. Many seem to agree back then. In good hope I decided to follow my own beliefs and supported Odan for Country President last month. Even though he and me are on good terms personally (IRC can do a lot), he was one of my prime political opponents and the sworn enemy of my political party Revolution et Libertas. Also, without any other capable candidates on the ballot, it was the only meaningful choice to opt for.
Despite my good hopes, things only have degenerated to deep depths. The British might be trolling in their latest article posted in eNL, but the words in their articles are very much true. We are becoming a laughing stock. And we are to blame for that. In the terms of both Odan and Shtula we've seen incredibly and undeniably stupid things happening. My own party is speaking with personal hate and disgust about the other side, and absolutely unable to take compromises for the better of the eNetherlands - instead opting for plotting and scheming for their own personal ego's.
Meanwhile last term we've seen witch-hunts on DAF and Weekstrom (not to mention kimi, but that is not really relevant or damaging). Instead of integrating every single soldier our country has (notably Weekstrom is one of the D4 players who can make a difference on the battlefield against all odds), we've decided to anger those because of whatever reason is - it has nothing to do with what's best for the eNetherlands. This decadence will backfire when we're being threatened. Why would one fight for ''his country'' when that same country is bullying and prosecuting them?
Meanwhile, in all this irrelevant and petty fighting, we almost forget what really matters for our country. Our foreign affairs, our defence capabilities and so on. The last 2 weeks we've seen absolutely no changes or activities in this sense. Months ago I warned that the eNetherlands needed to reform its financial plan - because I can't be everyone's sugar daddy when I'm not around. Months ago I proposed plans to make the eNetherlands a feasible entity without personal donations - which would allow us to have a sizeable stack of MPPs and save up for Combat Orders. We are able to do that, because we make the appropriate money by other means than tax income. Absolutely nothing happened in this area - arguably one of the most important matters for an eRepublik country. Instead we opted to scrap most of our MPPs, including with some incredible dedicated allies like Canada and France. How can we give a bigger F* off to the people who liberated us and the people who gladly welcomed us in their alliance?
The country has never been more active - but all activity is filled with piss, crap and more faeces. If that's the only way to make the eNetherlands visible in this eWorld, then I'm passing.

We both know there aren't enough competent and willing people around to run NL. I disagree on appeasing to Weekstrom because of his damage, and I do find him a bad commander because he often ends up making the DAF CO position a political pressure tool when he disagrees with the plans of the CP.

There is an unbridgable gap between two groups of people. I have tried some things but none worked to bring them together. It's just impossible. I'm taking a break from trying to close the gap and focus on some other things instead.
The fights are good for the activity, although it's mostly negative activity. That is because we aren't all on the same page. We play all different games and noone wants to acknowledge the game the other is playing. Said multiple times, but there is no unity in our country. I don't mean by this peace or anything like it, but just being able to collaborate how different we are.
I hope people can put their feelings aside and act all to increase the fun of the game for everyone. That's what it is all about right?

As a CM member maybe you are unable to.. but as a CP or MU commander you are. I see eNL and it's military forces organised propoerly without damagijg the country.
