We all know what happened in the end, the admins weighed in on the decision and decided in our favor. Exactly as planned.
Regardless of this decision, and regardless of the fact that everyone saw this coming, the US still paid Portugal the remaining 200g yesterday, just the finish the deal. Knowing what was coming, why would the US go ahead and actually give Portugal money? Because we are cool like that. We in the US are not nitpicking, money-grubbing, two-faced, untrustworthy diplomats. In fact, when Portugal failed to turn over Maryland within 14 days(they returned it on the 15th day after the contract was signed), I made a decision to not say anything about it, because I was pursuing peace in good faith, and I am not a nitpicking, money-grubbing, two-faced, untrustworthy diplomat.

I have no idea what you'ret alking about. The Indonesians decided to vote yes on a peace treaty for the war with Portugal, even though they did not know which war the peace was for. Sounds to me like their hubris made them simply assume that we wanted peace in our direct war.
