The Right to CHOSE

Namaste.

Motto:
Government's view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases: If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it. And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
– Ronald Reagan

I noticed the article about economy of an old dyno, named ghishae.
It is a nice reading, about beta time of eRepublic (which ended in October 200😎.

Beside that, it is about economy and the ways that the “game mechanics” regulated this activity.

See, in beta fighting was not a very serious activity of the eCitizens (not too much wars back then – and not too much ppl to fight), but citizens could work and, eventually, develop a business.
Those company’s got workers (and most of the citizens where workers) and the owners where very interested to have good workers (at 100% wellness, with high skill – back then it was such a skill for working).

We are different. We are man’s and women’s, with different colors for skin, hair, eyes.
We are not supposed to live all alike. We are not supposed to have all the same rules, money, political system, economical system, educational system, etc.

Now, after all this, I want to make so personal remarks on economy in eR.

Economy

1. Country’s did not regulate them own economy.
That for a simple choice of elected President and Government, or the Congress, would be enough (like choosing a free market economy, a centralized economy – even with a nationalization action, etc)
This kind of choice will also allow a country to chose what political system she like (and if this kind of choice will be available for PP too, it will be easy for citizens to know which party, what kind of policy will have).
Sure, this mean eR will not be the same in every country (which is hard to do, I’m sure) but will became much more near to a reality simulator.
After all, players did do such things already here, with or without the agreement of Admin, tricking the game mechanic.

Example:
If a country chose free Market, then company’s must be created, to supply that market, and company’s must have employee’s to work for producing those goods.
If a country choose a regulated market (Command economy), then the government may establish the prices for products (at least the maximum and minimum price), state also could have companies on the market, etc.
If a traditional economy is chosen, then every citizen should produce the minimum goods he need and could sell or exchange them with others.

2. Country’s did not regulate them own monetary market.
Depending on the political system a country chose, the monetary market should be regulated by a King, Government or Congress.
Also, the control of the monetary market must be established, meaning that the respective country authority must know how much money they are in the market, to be able to redraw or to print more, accordingly to her monetary policy.

For the case of an Market economy, the amount of money on market should cover all the transactions made, for a Command economy the state will print enough money to cover the minimum purchases on the economy, having the possibility of direct transfers of good between companies and /or from companies to citizens too and, in the end, for an Traditional economy, the amount of money will be the smallest, needing only to cover the minimal need of citizens transactions.

3. Country’s barely could regulate them own products markets.
Accordingly to those 3 types of economy that a country could chose, the products market could be free (everyone could sell/buy products – citizens and companies alike), a commanded market under the decision of the state, allowing transfers between state companies with no necessary money involved, or just a traditional market (like the one in which you buy vegetables) of citizens for the citizens.

Sure, all this must be related to political system too and, that for, I make some suggestions regarding players choosing regarding political system too.

Politics

There are 6 big political systems known to humankind.

In the case of one ruler
1. Kingship
2. Tyranny
This kind of political system presume a ruler (only one person – like the CP now) who have all the power (all the functions that CP, Gov and Congress have now). Also, it must allow the development of nobility, citizens to whom the ruler give tax exemption, and who could, eventually take some of the Government positions.
But all this is at the disposal of the ruler, because if he/she became deviant and chose Tyranny, he/she could keep all the powers for himself, not allowing the interference of any to that.
No Congress is needed for this.

In the case of a ruling group
3. Aristocracy
4. Oligarchy
Now we talk about a small group of persons, like a Government, sharing small amount of power between themselves. Also, here too, no Congress is required.
Those groups could be elected or not (in the case of Oligarchy) and they will represent the state, governing the Treasury of state, the foreign policy and internal policy.

In the case of all citizens ruling
5. Polity
6. Democracy
Those political systems are ruled by all the citizens and ONLY in this kind of ruling form a Congress must exist.
Even here, for the Polity system, all the citizens are directly represented, and not by a Congress, which appeared only in the deviant system of a Democracy.
This is almost like the game is now.

In order to gave citizens the power to chose if and when they like to change a particular system, the game should allow something like a riot or revolution (how it is now the resistance war)

Different choosing from those different type of politics and economics systems will generate a variety of approach of playing the game and, ADMIN, beware, you will be no more responsible for that.
Because the players will be free to chose.
