What is the NHS?
Quite possibly the most awesome thing in the eUK, if not the eWorld.

Huh? You want to know more? Fair enough… The NHS was founded in 2012 by Talon Karrde and Sir Humphrey Appleby. It’s here to provide food supplies to new players in the eUK, to help them get a good start in the game. In short, all new eUK players are eligible to receive NHS food in return for gaining experience. It’s that simple.

Originally the NHS was a government programme, but in 2013 it was separated from government ~~interference~~ support and became an entirely privately funded and voluntary affair. This means that the NHS continues, no matter who’s in government, what state our country accounts are in, and what the country’s financial priorities are. This is A Good Thing.

Traditionally the NHS has been funded by Congressmen and women donating their five gold congress payments. However, while the country is under a dictator no gold is given to congress members, so - at the moment - it’s entirely funded by private donations.

Who runs the NHS?
The NHS is run by a small team of volunteers, who handle donations and send food out to members of the scheme. Currently those people are:

Sounds good, but how will it help me?
First and foremost, the NHS will provide you with free food, based on the following conditions:

1. You must be at level 32 or below (i.e. div 1) - if you’re higher than that you can look after yourself 🙂

2. Every day you will receive 1 Q5 food (or equivalent) for each experience point you gain.

3. Food is capped at 100 experience points per day - the maximum you can receive is 100 Q5 food per day.

If that isn’t enough, the NHS also provides a support network, help articles, and mentorship for new players, to set you on the right path.

Pretty cool huh?

OK, I’m sold. What do I need to do?
Just get in touch with Madelina de Melrose or Tinman1 and tell them that you want to join the NHS. As long as you’re eligible (i.e. an eUK player at level 32 or below), they’ll sort you out from there.

You’re absolutely right - it IS amazing. And thanks for offering to help.

We’re a completely voluntary scheme, running entirely off donations of time and money. So there are two things you can do to help us:

Donate cash, gold or food
Every penny/nugget/chicken nugget we give out has come from a donation. So if you’ve got any spare money or food hanging about, simply get in touch with one of the NHS team who'll be delighted to take it off your hands.

Donate your time
We’re also on the constant lookout for volunteers. We always need Lunch Ladies - people who distribute the food to new players based on their experience growth. It only takes a couple of minutes per day, and it’s a huge help. Or you can help mentor young players, write articles for us, etc etc. There’s always something to do, so it you want to help on a regular basis or a bit more ad hoc, just get in touch.

strictly speaking we should be helping people str train rather than food fight but tbh we don't want to admit they'll never catch up anyway so may as well give them lobster

I'm going to agree with Appleby again here - even if he is apparently planning to smash me over the head with an empty whisky bottle. Yes arguably we should be encouraging people to strength train, but as they can never catch up, it would be better to have people fighting and enjoying themselves as much as they can. Remember if as Prince Harry claims "this is a war game" how can you say any new players should be prevented from fighting? In any case if they really wanted to they can buy the pack to limit their XP gain.

It's always been funded by a mixture of Congress gold and private donations. And we do more than just send food - we are a contact point, a friendly face, someone to ask when there's a question. All those things didn't happen when I started playing, I'm very glad that our newer players don't have to go through what I did when I started.

Oh, and we encourage them to do the D.O. but not use all their energy fighting - they need to grow so they'll be strong enough to make a difference later on. But telling them they can't fight would mean a lot would quit the game altogether. We walk a bit of a tightrope here, there's no perfect answer.

Let me tell everyone something this NHS is the biggest waste of time and waste of money ever and I tell you why you can tell people with no clue made this up

They supply till level 32 let me just say this is division 1

So at a time when people are meant to be saving XP and strength training we give them FOOD duh

Shall we just make weaker warriors this scheme allows that, if you want to know why the country is weak you need to look at their programs on offers and work out why, morons runnign schemes that dont work

NHS need to be shut down or revised and in a place a scheme where we help citizens strength train. for div 1

and food for div 2/3/ and 4 their should be no level restriction as everyone needs help!

Let me tell you more a Div 1 player can get 80cc take home pay now that buys them 350 q2 food that is enough to last a person 1400 energy , with such high wages now adays giving out food is useless when they can buy it themselves

A better thing to would buy a person a house and give them money to strength train

Also, that 80CC will only buy them 4 Q7 weapons, which is only enough for 40 hits or 400 energy worth. Unless we want them spending their money on food and using lower quality weapons, which results in gaining experience faster (more hits to get your 25 kills for the day) while gaining less rank points, which leads to weaker soldiers.

But I agree that they should be saving their money for strength training - doesn't giving them enough food to do their daily orders without having to spend their wages allow them to save more money for that?
